A predicted increase in global warming affects the north american ecosystem in that

Important:

It will not affect the american ecosystem in one single way. There are many stuff that will change due to global warming, not only in America.

___________________________________________________

Here's some information:

- Global warming can raise sea levels by melting glaciers - that can affect North-America since it stands relatively close to the North Pole.

- Living organisms have adapted to live under certain conditions, and if those conditions change too rapidly, we'll see many things going on. Plants can start dying-out, which means all the other animals will die-out as well.

- An increase in water temperature might affect the water cycle, since more water will evaporate in the surface, and we don't know if the condensation of water will be able to keep up.

- Dry and hot regions will get even drier and hotter, and that's not something we want in the hot and dry southern regions of North-America.

- Ice/snow is important in the ecosystems that have it. It forms part of a cycle that can cause a lot of trouble if broken.

__________________________________________________

Now, if we apply all those consequences and many others to the whole world, the only conclusion with can get to is that every day that passes and we don't do anything, is a day less until our extinction. If things aren't done seriously, Mars is not a salvation option, nor is the Moon or any other place we've been exploring.

Drag each tile to the correct box. The flu vaccine activates adaptive immunity. How does this occur? Antibodies are quickly prod
mestny [16]

Answer:

The correct order would be:

A vaccine introduces a weakened flu virus into the body.

                                                        ↓

The immune system identifies antigens on the weakened flu virus.

                                                        ↓

Antibodies are produced, which bind to the weakened flu virus and signal immune cells to destroy it.

                                                        ↓

The actual flu virus enters the body, and lymphocytes recognize the antigens.

                                                        ↓

Antibodies are quickly produced and allow the body to fight off the infection.

Vaccination or immunization is the process which helps in developing the immunity (adaptive) against a particular pathogen or microorganism.

It includes the administration of antigen, weakened or heat-killed microorganism (such as flu virus) into the patients body. Body's immune system produces naive B and T cells to eliminate the antigen.

This encounter enables the immune system to produce memory B and T cells against that particular pathogen.

In future, whenever the same antigen enters the body, the immune system gets activated quickly due to the presence of memory cells. It enables the body to produce more effective secondary response against the pathogen.

if a rabbit consumes 500 calories of plant material, how much of that would be passed on to a hawk in the following food chain?
slamgirl [31]
10% of energy is lost (to heat), for each level of the food chain. So the rabbit would have 500, the snake would have 50 and the hawk would have 5.

Two true-breeding stocks of pea plants are crossed. One parent has red, axial flowers, and the other has white, terminal flowers
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The probability of producing plants with white axial flowers would be 1/16.

From the illustration, All F1 individuals had red, axial flowers. It thus means that red and axial genes are dominant over white and terminal genes in the pea plant.

Let us assume that the allele for flower color is A (red) and a (white); and the allele for flower location is B (axial) and b (terminal).

Pure-breeding red, axial flower = AABB

Pure breeding white, terminal flower = aabb

AABB x aabb

F1 genotype = AaBb - all red and axial

At F2:

AaBb x AaBb

Progeny

9 A_B_ red/axial

3 A_bb red/terminal

3 aaB_ white/axial

1 aabb - white/terminal

Hence, the probability of producing plants with white axial flowers in the F2 generation is 1/16.
