Imagine that the climate in your region became extremely arid, and freshwater became a scarce and precious resource. Wasteful us

es of water, such as watering lawns and filling swimming pools, would be strictly outlawed, and water from the municipal water supply would cost 100 times what it does now. Discuss how you would adapt to that situation.

Answer:

Answer = explanation.

Explanation:

I would try adapting without any problems, since if we suppose that this climate change happened recently, the answer is probably human activity. And, even if I wasn't part of it, there is nothing I can do but tolerate it.

But now, the important part. I would reduce the amount of weekly showers to 1-3 showers a week. I would also buy water only for my consumption, making sure nothing would be wasted. Given that water would be x100 more expensive, I would also buy water-rich fruits and vegetables from the market (and of course, these would have to come from somewhere else, since I would not support illegal watering) such as cucumbers, watermelons, melons, nectarines, etc.

Hope it helped,

Nina [5.8K]

Correct answer: B). Shelter wood cutting takes place over several years

Shelterwood cutting is the progressively cutting of the forest, in order to establish the growth of the new generation of the seedlings of a particular species without planting.

It is a method of natural tree reproduction under the shelter of old trees, which are removed successively by cutting the tree in order to provide the increased amount of light to the new seedlings. It is a slow process and takes lot of time.

The activity of an enzyme might be increased by all of the following exceptin __________
meriva

Answer:

Option (d).

Explanation:

Enzymes are bio catalyst that can increase the rate of a bio chemical reactions of the body. Enzymes work at specific pH and temperature conditions only.

The activity of enzyme is highest at its optimum temperatures. The treatment of enzyme with excess heat or cold can decrease the enzyme activity. The exposure to cold decreases the activity of a enzyme as motion of the molecules decreases at low temperatures.

Thus, the correct answer is option (d)

Let's consider a scenario in which the resting membrane potential changes from −70 mV to +70 mV, but the concentrations of all ions in the intracellular and extracellular fluids are unchanged. Predict how this change in membrane potential affects the movement of Na+. The electrical gradient for Na+ would tend to move Na+ Outside the cell (extracellular) while the chemical gradient for Na+ would tend to move Na+ Inside the cell (intracellular).

The electrical gradient is defined as the + goes to the - and the - goes to the +
Na + has a positive charge, but there's more positive charge inside the cell than outside (due to potassium), therefore, Na+ goes extracellular (out)
The concentration gradient considers that the ion will go from the most concentrated to at least concentrated by passive diffusion so no trans-membrane proteins in the game attention.Na + is very concentrated in extracellular and few intracellular, therefore, it tends to go intracellular (in).
