2(2w-5) + 2w = 50

4w - 10 + 2w = 50

6w - 10 = 50

6w = 60

w = 10

length is 2(10) - 5 = 20 -5 = 15

i hope this helps!!

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the width of the  rectangular family portrait  , then its length will be 2x-15.

Formula to find perimeter :-

P=2(l+w)=2(2x-15+x)\\\\\Rightarrow\ P=2(3x-15)=6x-30    (1)

Since, the perimeter of the frame = 60 inches, then substitute P=60 in (1), we get

60=6x-30

Add 30 both sides , we get

6x=90

Divide 6 on both sides , we get

x=15

hence, Width = 15 inches

Length = 2(15)-15=15 inches.

Hence, the  length and width of the frame are 15 inches by 15 inches.

Arrange these functions from the greatest to the least value based on the average rate of change in the specified interval.Tiles
Ugo [173]

By definition, the average rate of change is given by:

AVR = \frac{f(x2)-f(x1)}{x2-x1}

We evaluate each of the functions in the given interval.

We have then:

For f (x) = x ^ 2 + 3x:

Evaluating for x = -2:

f (-2) = (-2) ^ 2 + 3 (-2)\\f (-2) = 4 - 6\\f (-2) = - 2

Evaluating for x = 3:

f (3) = (3) ^ 2 + 3 (3)\\f (3) = 9 + 9\\f (3) = 18

Then, the AVR is:

AVR = \frac{18-(-2)}{3-(-2)}

AVR = \frac{18+2}{3+2}

AVR = \frac{20}{5}

AVR = 4

For f (x) = 3x - 8:

Evaluating for x =4:

f (4) = 3 (4) - 8\\f (4) = 12 - 8\\f (4) = 4

Evaluating for x = 5:

f (5) = 3 (5) - 8\\f (5) = 15 - 8\\f (5) = 7

Then, the AVR is:

AVR = \frac{7-4}{5-4}

AVR = \frac{3}{1}

AVR = 3

For f (x) = x ^ 2 - 2x:

Evaluating for x = -3:

f (-3) = (-3) ^ 2 - 2 (-3)\\f (-3) = 9 + 6\\f (-3) = 15

Evaluating for x = 4:

f (4) = (4) ^ 2 - 2 (4)\\f (4) = 16 - 8\\f (4) = 8

Then, the AVR is:

AVR = \frac{8-15}{4-(-3)}

AVR = \frac{-7}{4+3}

AVR = \frac{-7}{7}

AVR = -1

For f (x) = x ^ 2 - 5:

Evaluating for x = -1:

f (-1) = (-1) ^ 2 - 5\\f (-1) = 1 - 5\\f (-1) = - 4

Evaluating for x = 1:

f (1) = (1) ^ 2 - 5\\f (1) = 1 - 5\\f (1) = - 4

Then, the AVR is:

AVR = \frac{-4-(-4)}{1-(-1)}

AVR = \frac{-4+4}{1+1}

AVR = \frac{0}{2}

AVR = 0

Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

0.63

Step-by-step explanation:

To get the relative frequency of students with red hair, we need to find the relative frequency of students with red hair from the students with gray eyes.

Since we already know that the total number of students with gray eyes is 35 and the number of red hair students with gray eye is 22

The formula we will use to calculate the relative frequency will be

The relative frequency of students with red hair = Total students of red hair with gray eyes divide by total number of gray eye students

22 ÷ 35 = 0.628  ≅ 0.63

If a 10-pound turkey costs $20.42.how much does a 21-pound turkey cost
sergij07 [2.7K]

Answer:

$42.88

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's create a proportion using the following setup:

cost/pounds=cost/pounds

We know that it costs $20.42 for a 10 pound turkey.

$20.42/10 pounds= cost/pounds

We don't know how much a 21 pound turkey costs, so we can say that it costs $x for a 21 pound turkey.

$20.42/ 10 pounds= $x/ 21 pounds

20.42/10=x/21

We want to find x, by getting x by itself.

x is being divided by 21. The inverse of division is multiplication. Multiply both sides by 21.

21*(20.42/10)=(x/21)*21

21* 20.42/10=x

21*2.042=x

42.882=x

Round to the nearest cent, or hundredth.

42.88=x

x= $42.88

A 21 pound turkey costs $42.88
