Last month, Vern’s Assembly Department had a unit materials cost of $4.00 and a unit conversion cost of $5.00. The department tr

ansferred out 68,000 units during the month and had 12,000 units in ending work in process inventory that were 40% complete with respect to conversion at the end of the month. If all materials are added at the beginning of the process and conversion costs are added uniformly throughout the process, what is the total cost of the department’s ending work in process inventory?

Answer:

The total cost of the department’s ending work in process inventory is $684,000

Explanation:

The computation of the total cost is shown below:

= Material cost + conversion cost

where,

Material cost = (Transferred units + ending work in progress) × material cost per unit

= (68,000 units + 12,000 units) × $4

= $320,000

Conversion  cost = (Transferred units + ending work in progress × percentage of completion) × material cost per unit

= (68,000 units + 12,000 units × 40%) × $5

= $364,000

Now put these values to the above formula

So, the value would equal to

= $32,000 + $364,000

= $684,000

Suppose both the demand for and supply of salsa increase (although not necessarily by the same amount). What can we conclude abo
klasskru [66]

Answer:

If both demand and supply increase by the same amount, the output level will increase while price will remain same.

If increase in demand is greater than increase in price then price and output both will increase.

If increase in supply is greater than increase in demand, price will decline while output will increase.

Explanation:

The changes in the price and quantity of salsa depending on the degree of change in supply and demand. In case both the variables increase by the same proportion, the price will remain the same while quantity will increase.

In case the increase in demand is more than increase in supply it would cause the price to increase because of excess demand. At the same time, the quantity will increase as well.

In case the increase in supply is more than increase in demand, the price will fall due to excess supply. The output will increase as well.

Marathon Company has 10,000 units of its product that were produced last year at a total cost of $150,000. The units were damage
V125BC [204]

Answer: Marathon should repair the units since an income of $12000 will be gotten.

Explanation:

Based on the information given, the following can be deduced:

Revenue when repaired = 10000 × $5 = $50000

Revenue if sold without repair = 10000 × $2 = $20000

Incremental revenue = $50000 - $20000 = $30000

Cost to repair = $18000

Incremental be Income = $30000 - $18000 = $12000

Therefore, Marathon should repair the units since an income of $12000 will be gotten.
