Answer: B:  184

Step-by-step explanation:

Felicity, Rainbow, Prudence and Bob, the unicorn friends, are prancing around in the forest.

No. of unicorns = 4

Each unicorn has 4 legs.

Total legs in 4 unicorns = 4\times4=16   (1)

No. of bees = 7

Also, a bee has 6 legs, then the total legs of 7 bees = 7\times6=42  (2)

No. of cockroaches= 5

Each cockroach has 6 legs , so total legs of cockroaches =5\times6=30   (3)

No . of spiders = 8

Each spider has eight legs , the total number of legs of 8 spiders = 8\times8=64       (4)

There are also three deer and four boars. Behind a bush, they can see a pair of antlers i.e. one more deer is behind the bushes .

Since each deer and boar has 4 legs , so total legs of 4 deer and 4 boars=

4(4+4)=4(8)=32        (5)

Now , Add (1), (2) , (3), (4) and (5) , we get

The total number of legs all the numbered beasts combined amount to =

16+42+30+64+32=184

∴ The total number of legs of all those beasts = 184

Option (B) is correct.

Answer: OPTION B

Step-by-step explanation:

There are seven bees. Each bee has 6 legs. Then:

legs_{(bees)}=7*6=42

There are five cockroaches and each has 6 legs. So:

 legs_{(cockroaches)}=5*6=30

Since there are eight spiders and we know that each has 8 legs:

 legs_{(spiders)}=8*8=64

There are three deers, but the exercise says that there are  a pair of antlers begind a bush and this is a characteristic ruminant mammals. Since deers are ruminant mammals, we can say that there are 4 deers.

A deer has 4 legs. Then:

legs_{(deers)}=4*4=16

Since there are four boars and each has 4 legs, we know that:

legs_{(boars)}=4*4=16

We know that a unicorn has 4 legs, and Felicity, Rainbow, Prudence and Bob are unicorns, then:

legs_{(unicorns)}=4*4=16

Therefore, the total amount of legs of all those beasts is:

total\ legs=42+30+64+16+16+16=184

blsea [12.9K]

Options

  • -2.5
  • -2
  • -1\dfrac{9}{10}
  • -1

Answer:

(B) -2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the list

-34.-2\dfrac{3}{4} ,x, -1.5,0,2.3,10,25\dfrac15

This list has been arranged in order from the least to the greatest.

We are required to find an Integer that can be inserted on the blank line (I have used x) in the list.

An integer is defined as a positive or negative whole number.

Out of the given options, only -1 and -2 are integers. However:

  • -1 is greater than -1.5

Therefore, it cannot be our result.

The correct answer is -2.

Most graduate business schools require applicants to take the gmat. scores on this test are approximately normally distributed w
Harman [31]
We are looking for the probability :
P(X > n)=0.05
Transform the law to standard normal like this:
P(\dfrac{X-545}{100}> \dfrac{n-545}{100})=0.05
The above formula is equivalent to this one:
P(\dfrac{X-545}{100}< \dfrac{n-545}{100})=0.95
From normal law table, we read the value of \dfrac{X-545}{100}.
\dfrac{X-545}{100}=1.7
Solving the above equation for the score n:
X-545=170
X=715, it is the score we are looking for.

It has been estimated that only about 30% of California residents have adequate earthquake supplies. Suppose we are interested i
lidiya [134]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that 30% of California residents have adequate earthquake supplies.

a) Ramon variable X denotes the number of the california residents that have adequate earthquake insurance

B) x can take value 1 ,2 ,3 ......

C)The distribution of random variable is geometric distribution with parameter p=0.3

The pmf of geometric distribution is

P(X=x)=0.3(1-0.3)^{x-1} , x=1,2,3...

D)P(X=1) or P(X=2)=P(X=1)+P(X=2)

P(X=1) or P(X=2)=0.3(1-0.3)^{1-1}+0.3(1-0.3)^{2-1}=0.51

E)

P(X \geq 3)=1-P(X

F)

E(X)=\frac{1}{p}

p is the resident who does not have adequate earthquake supplies.

p = 1-0.3 = 0.7

E(X)=\frac{1}{0.7}=1.42

G)E(X)=\frac{1}{q}=\frac{1}{0.3}=3.33
