Answer:

After-tax cost of debt is 7.2%

Explanation:

Given:

Coupon rate = 6% or 0.06 per annum.

Semi- annual coupon rate = 0.06÷2 = 0.03

Par value is 1,000

Coupon payment = 0.03×1000 = $30

Time period = 30×2= 60 semi-annual periods

Bond price = $515.16

Pre-tax cost of debt can be computed using excel function 'RATE'

=RATE(nper,PMT,PV,FV)

nper is 60; PMT is 30; PV is -515.16 (cash outflow); FV is 1000

Rate is 6%

Calculation is shown in attached excel snip.

Yield to maturity = 6×2 = 12%

Federal tax rate is 40% or 0.4

After-tax cost of debt = 0.12 (1-0.4)

                                  = 0.072 or 7.2%

What characteristics would make an encryption absolutely unbreakable? what characteristics would make an encryption impractical
ad-work [718]
There's no such things as an unbreakable encryption. If an encryption is devised, it will eventually be broken/decrypted. However, there are certain measures or characteristics that can be put in place to prolong decryption like using a one-time pad encryption. This means the key is used only once; using a key once is a pretty good idea since a strong algorithm will be of no use when the key becomes known. This characteristics ensures that a new key is required for decryption on successive attempt. You could also consider adding a long sequence of characters or adding an extra layer of security by upgrading to 256 or 512 bit encryption, also use salting and multiple algorithms.

Answer:

Positive ROI

Explanation:

Education is probably the best investment that someone can make. It is not easy and it is not nice, but it can help you have a better life and better future.

In this case, Luis spent money in order to get his certificate in repairing air conditioners. He studied 6 months and probably took a test to pass it. After passing it, he owes money which is not good. But the great part is that Luis is now earning much more money than before. His better salary will allow him to pay his loan in 2 years, which is a a short time. Imagine if you could pay your college loans in just 2 years (the average time is 20 years).
