Forests of Jammu and Kashmir are rich in timber and the growing population resulted in the growing need of the timber which compelled the locals to fell more trees for the purpose of timber for construction of wood houses.

Forests fire is also a cause for the degradation of the forests.  Uncontrolled forest fires during summer causes high temperature which burns the Alpine and Chirr trees in the forest causing degradation of forests and resources.

Number of hydro power projects resulted in landslides and soil erosion. Increase in forest fires, erratic rainfall and climatic changes have a major impact on the forests of Jammu and Kashmir.

tatiyna

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached, we can say the following.

Anna MOST LIKELY is studying wolves in the Chernobyl area, in Russia.

This is so because, on April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded, in one of the most tragic incidents with nuclear plants in the world. Radiation spread all over the region, affecting not only humans but the wildlife and the entire environment in that part of Russia.

That is why, Anna, a European scientist, is studying how wildlife recovers from environmental disasters such as the Chernobyl incident of 1986. She is doing so by radio tagging wolves and studying how they develop over time. Hope she can find answers about animals that do not develop correctly because of radiation exposure.

Crazy boy [7]

Answer:

The following statement does not reflect a likely response to the conflict between Jo’s attitude and her behavior - <em>"It's wrong to break even minor laws, but I'll probably keep speeding anyway."</em>

Explanation:

<u>The conflict between Jo’s attitude and her behavior</u> regarding breaking speed limits <u>would lead to cognitive dissonance and thus a need to justify her behavior.</u>

All three remaining statements would help her to reduce cognitive dissonance by finding explanation to her behavior, <u>while the given statement does not correspond to her belief that she is a law-abiding citizen.</u> Being law-abiding means taking the laws and their violation seriously. That is why individuals who sometimes violate laws feel bad about it and seek to justify what they do.

Natali [406]

Answer:

1. Operant conditioning

2. Associative Learning

3. after a few hours without the food (US), the tone (CS) was presented again

4. negative reinforcement

Explanation:

Operant conditioning is learning process where the behaviors are associated with rewards or punishment. It works on the premise that an individual is likely to do a certain act or behavior if it results in a reward; and an individual is less likely to do the behavior, if it results in punishment.

Associative learning theory states that behavior of an individual can be changed or learned based on stimulus and response. In simpler terms, we learn through experience. When a behavior is associated with a negative response, then individuals will avoid that behavior. If it is associated with a positive response, then individuals would do the behavior to elicit that same response. Learning is achieved when we do not need a stimulus like a reward or punishment to do or not do the behavior.

Spontaneous recovery is an event where after a rest period from the stimulus, the conditioned response will re-emerge. For example with the dog and the bell. After not associating the sound of the bell with food, the dog does not salivate anymore. But after sometime, when the bell is suddenly rang, the dog would start to salivate again. This shows that even if something is extinguished, it doesn't mean that it is unlearned.

Negative reinforcement can also be a stimulus to do an action. If with positive reinforcement, yougive a reward for a behavior that is done. You can also punish to make the individual do the behavior. In the case of your quesiton, the whining behavior of the son is a form of negative reinforcement. This is because the mother was force to do what the sun wanted because she could not take the complaining and whining. So it served as a stimulus to do the behavior.

Lisa [10]

Answer:

Confirmation bias

Explanation:

Confirmation bias is the tendency to interpret information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs. This type of bias prevents people from looking objectively at given situations and paves way to many false beliefs and stereotypes.

Stefanie sees a blond-haired, tanned guy walking around campus and she assumes he must be from California based on the way he looks. She assumes that everybody looking that way must be from California because she heard that belief so many times that she started believing it, without any proven evidence supporting this statement.
