Answer:

17 days

Step-by-step explanation:

+y+=+275+-+8x+

The x-intercept is the point ( x,0 )

Since y=0 at the x-intertcept, this

is the point where the remaining gallons

of oil in the tank = 0, and the value

of x will be the number of days to

use up all 275 gallons

The tank will be half full when the remaining

gallons = +275%2F2, so I can say:

275%2F2=275+8x

Multiply both sides by 2

275+=550+16x

16x=550+275

16x=275

x=17.1875

The tank will be half full during the 17th day

Using the given formula T = LS

And given the time is 3 minutes (3 x 60 = 180 seconds)and the speed is 4-1/2 inches per second:

180 = L x 4-1/2

Solve for L by dividing both sides by 4-1/2:

L = 180 / 4-1/2

L = 40

The length should be 40 inches.

780 students stand in rows and columns. each row has an equal number of students and each column has an equal number of students
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

x = number of rows

780=x(x+4)

780=x^{2} +4x

x^{2} +4x-780=0\\(x+26)(x-30)=0\\x=30 \\x\neq -26\\

there are 26 rows and 30 students in each row 26*30=780

siniylev [52]

If the adjusted ratio was 2:7, then

2x is the number of pull-ups

and

7x is the number of box jumps.

You can state that since he completed 63 box jumps at the end of his training, then

7x=63,

x=9

and

2x=18.

The total number of exercises performed is 2x+9x=18+63=81.

As at start the ratio was 5:4, then

5y was the number of pull-ups

and

4y was the number of box jumps.

Therefore, 5y+4y=81,

9y=81,

y=9

and 5y=45, 4y=36.

Answer: Initially: 45 pull-ups and 36 box jumps. At the end: 18 pull-ups and 63 box jumps.
