There are five types of literary conflict. These are:
1) Man vs Man or Character vs Character
2) Man vs Nature
3) Man vs Society
4) Man vs Self
5) Man vs Technology

In the story, the conflict between Odysseus and the cyclops is MAN VS MAN.

Man vs Man conflict has the following criteria:
<span>1) Characters are pitted against one another.
2) The antagonist (or other character) tries to keep the protagonist from reaching his goal.
<span>3) The protagonist must overcome the efforts of the antagonist to reach his goal.</span></span>

You are correct - it is the first one. Remember that a dependant clause is a part of sentence that cannot be its own. Can "After I walked the dog," be a complete sentence?  The other ones are complex and simple.
