A store sells both cold and hot beverages. Cold beverages, c, cost $1.50, while hot beverages, h, cost $2.00. On Saturday, drink

receipts totaled $360, and 4 times as many cold beverages were sold as hot beverages.
Part 1: Write a system of equations to represent the beverage sales on Saturday.

Part 2: Use any solving method you like to solve the system of equations you wrote in Part 1. Show all of your work.

Answer:

180 cold beverages and 45 hot beverages were sold

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the no. of cold beverages were sold

Let y be the no. of hot beverages were sold

We are given that On Saturday, 4 times as many cold beverages were sold as hot beverages.

So, x=4y

Cost of 1 cold beverage = $1.50

Cost of x cold beverage = 1.50x

Cost of 1 hot beverage = $2.00.

Cost of y hot beverage = 2y

On Saturday, drink receipts totaled $360

So, 1.50x+2y=360

A system of equations to represent the beverage sales on Saturday:

x=4y ---1

1.50x+2y=360 ---2

Substitute the value of x from 1 in 2

1.50(4y)+2y=360

6y+2y=360

8y=360

y=45

Substitute the value of y in 1

x=4(45)

x=180

Hence 180 cold beverages and 45 hot beverages were sold

tamaranim1 [39]
Let be A =a3b +9a2b2-4ab5, and B=a3b-3a2b2+ab5,so the difference can be defined as A - B =a3b +9a2b2-4ab5 -(a3b-3a2b2+ab5), when there is negative sign in front of the parathesis, all the inside signs must change: that is as follow: A- B= a3b +9a2b2-4ab5 - a3b + 3a2b2 - ab5= a3b-a3b +9a2b2+3a2b2-4ab5- ab5= 12a2b2 -5ab5, the fist term has 2+2=4, as a degree,the second term has 1 +5 =6, so the true answer : The difference is a binomial with a degree of 6

Jordan builds a miniature catapult for the science fair. He documents how far the catapult can throw a small rock for his report
GrogVix [38]

The rate to convert yards to meters is

1 \text{ yard}=0.9144\text{ meters}

So, if you multiply both sides by 8, you get

8 \text{ yards} = 8\times 0.9144 = 7.3152 \text{ meters}

To round the answer to the nearest tenth, we need to choose between 7.3 and 7.4. Since the hundreths digit is 1, which is less than 5, 7.3 is nearest to 7.3152 than 7.4, so the correct answer is 7.3

List the first five terms of the sequence. a1 = 4, an+1 = 5an − 3
RUDIKE [14]

The recursive formula

a_{n+1} = 5a_n-3

is telling you that the next term in the sequence is five times the previous one, minus 3.

So, if we start with a_1=4, we have to multiply it by 5 and subtract 3 to get the next:

a_2 = 5a_1-3 = 5\cdot 4 - 3 = 20-3 = 17

And similarly we can obtain all the next terms:

a_3 = 5a_2-3 = 5\cdot 17 - 3 = 85-3 = 82

a_4 = 5a_3-3 = 5\cdot 82 - 3 = 410-3 = 407

a_5 = 5a_4-3 = 5\cdot 407 - 3 = 2035-3 = 2032

At an intersection, the red-light times are normally distributed with a mean time of 3 minutes and a standard deviation of 0.25
denpristay [2]

Percent of red lights last between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes is 95.44% .

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Sketch the curve.

The probability that 2.5<X<3.5 is equal to the blue area under the curve.

Step 2:

Since μ=3 and σ=0.25 we have:

P ( 2.5 < X < 3.5 ) =P ( 2.5−3 < X−μ < 3.5−3 )

⇒ P ( (2.5−3)/0.25 < (X−μ)/σ < (3.5−3)/0.25)

Since, Z = (x−μ)/σ , (2.5−3)/0.25 = −2 and (3.5−3)/0.25 = 2 we have:

P ( 2.5<X<3.5 )=P ( −2<Z<2 )

Step 3: Use the standard normal table to conclude that:

P ( −2<Z<2 )=0.9544

Percent of red lights last between 2.5 and 3.5 minutes is 0.9544(100) = 95.44% .

En una cancha se va a pintar la circunferencia central que tiene un diámetro de 5 m .¿cual es la longitud de la circunferencia?
Alona [7]

Answer:

The length of the circumference is 5\pi\ m or 15.70\ m

Step-by-step explanation:

The question in English is

On a court, the central circumference will be painted, which has a diameter of 5 m. What is the length of the circumference?

we know that

The circumference of a circle is given by the formula

C=\pi D

we have

D=5\ m

substitute

C=\pi (5)\\C=5\pi\ m

This is the exact value

assume

\pi=3.24

C=5(3.14)=15.70\ m
