The best phrase to eliminate because it is neither precise nor domain specific is other people have created.
As you can see, contemporary historian, historical expertise, and monotonous historical essays have something to do with history, whereas other people have created has not.

In what way does Mirikitani’s “Attack the Water” compare to Muriel Ruckeyser’s “Poem”?
Amanda [17]
Mirikitani's "Attack the Water" relates to Rukeyser's "Poem" because they both focus on what civilians experience during wartime. "Attack the Water" describes the struggle of Vietnamese people living during (and after) the Vietnam War, and of Japanese-Americans in the era of Japanese Labor camps. "Poem" reflects on the struggle of people living during both of the World Wars, trying to get by and to get through such a tragic time. Both of these poems show that even when people are not involved directly in a war, war can still have an immense impact on their lives.

Do Dr. Strauss's experiments prove that an operation can permanently improve intelligence?
Nina [5.8K]
Assuming this refers to Flowers for Algernon, no, they do not. At the end of the story, Charlie begins to see a recession in his intelligence. He reverts back to how he was at the beginning of the story. This proves that Dr. Strauss' experiments are not permanent.

Write a pep talk you might give to a group of firefighters, a Scout troop, or members of another service organization who have e
Elanso [62]

A pep talk that can be given to a group of firefighters or a scout troop who have experienced a failure goes thus:

  • Failure is a path to success. Every successful person has failed. Failure is part of everyone's life and the main thing is how you react to it.

  • Do not let failure weigh you down. It is how you react that matters. Do not be afraid to try again. Failures are mistakes and you should try to be better and wiser the next time.

  • It is time to rebound from your mistakes and achieve your goals. Believe in yourselves, you can do it. Do not let failure stop you.

Read the following passage.
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Let's reread the question.

"Based on the passage, what can you infer about the character Mei?"

Since the question is asking you to infer about Mei's character, when reading the passage, pay attention to Mei's attitude, how she acts, and key words used to describe her.

Based on the Mei's actions, such as boasting "We did it!" repeatedly, and getting up to walk around the kitchen, we can infer that she was excited and happy. So we can scratch out B, since nothing in the passage should lead us to thinking Mei is timid.

At the end of the passage, it says "Her brother laughed, surprised and amused. 'Who are you, and what have you done with my sister, Mei?'"

By using the key words "surprised" and "amused", we can infer that Mei does not usually act this outgoing and loud. If she did, there wouldn't be any need to be surprised because that would be her normal character. So we can scratch out A, since Mei's brothers attitude shows that this isn't Mei's usual behavior.

Now, the last two answers are C, "Mei is not very athletic." or D, "Mei is not usually so boastful and energetic." The answer should be more obvious now.

Like B, nothing in the passage should lead us to thinking Mei isn't very athletic, so we can scratch out C.

And now, the only answer we have left is D! Hope this helped! :)
