The solar system is 25,000 light years from the center of our Milky Way galaxy. One light year is the distance light travels in

one year at a speed of 3.0×108m/s. Astronomers have determined that the solar system is orbiting the center of the galaxy at a speed of 230 km/s.
Assuming the orbit is circular, what is the period of the solar system's orbit?

Answer:

t = 2.05 x 10⁸ years

Explanation:

given,

solar system distance from milky way galaxy =  25,000 light years

Speed of light = 3.0×10⁸ m/s

orbiting speed of solar system = 230 Km/s

time period of solar system = ?

1 light year  = 9.461 x 10¹⁵ m

Distance(r) = 25,000 x 9.461 x 10¹⁵ m

              =2.365 x 10²⁰ m

Circumference(r) = 2 π r

                            = 2 x π x 2.365 x 10²⁰

                            = 1.486 x 10²¹ m

distance = speed x time

t = \dfrac{1.486 \times 10^{21}}{230 \times 10^3}

t = 6.47 x 10¹⁵ sec

t = \dfrac{6.47\times 10^{15}}{60\times 60\times 24 \times 365}

t = 2.05 x 10⁸ years

Which of the following best describes a capacitor?
galben [10]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

The capacitor is a component which has the ability to store energy in the form of an electrical charge  making a potential difference on those two metal plates

A capacitor consists of two or more parallel conductive (metal) plates. They are electrically seperated by an insulating material (ex: air, mica,ceramic etc.) which is called as Dielectric Layer

Due to this insulating layer, DC current can not flow through the capacitor.But it allows a voltage to be present across the plates in the form of an electrical charge.

Electric current in a solid metal conductor is caused by the movement of what ?
Vlad1618 [11]
Electric current in a solid metal conductor is caused by the movement of electric charge. An electric current is the flow of electric charge. An electron current, the flow of electrons, contributes to an electric current since the electron 'carries' negative electric charge. The flow of ions also contributes to an electric current in, for example, the electrolyte of an electrochemical cell.

Assume that the particle has initial speed viviv_i. Find its final kinetic energy KfKfK_f in terms of viviv_i, MMM, FFF, and DDD
NeX [460]

Answer:

KE= 1/2mv²

Explanation:

The kinetic energy of a body is the energy possessed by virtue of the body in motion

Given the parameters

m which is the mass of the body

v which is the velocity of the body too

K.E = kinetic energy

The expression for the kinetic energy of a body is given as

KE= 1/2mv²
