Prokaryotic bacteria are surrounded by a cell membrane that contains the transport proteins to regulate the entry and exit of materials through the cell, the cell wall to help maintain cell shape and structure, and the capsule, which aids against drying out and protects bacteria from a host's immune system.

<h3><u>Explanation:</u></h3>

Bacteria are the prokaryotic organisms that are found in every part of Earth. These organisms do have an interesting ultrastructure. The coverings of the bacteria are three in layer. They are

A. The outer capsule.

B. The middle cell wall.

C. The inner cell membrane.

The capsule is the outermost covering of bacteria that is formed of different slimy materials. These materials contains hygroscopic substances which can absorb water from the surroundings even when the water concentration in outside is very very low. This layer of protection outside bacteria help them to protect themselves against drying out at dry conditions.

The middle cell wall is formed of polymers of N acetyl glucosamine and N acetyl muramic acid. This layer is chitin in nature and is strong enough to maintain the shape and size of bacteria irrespective of outer conditions.

The innermost layer of bacteria is cell membrane which is formed of proteins and lipids bilayer and this cell membrane contains different transport for proteins which help in transport of different substances like water and nutrients inside the cell by means of active transport or passive diffusion.

Prokaryotic bacteria are surrounded by a cell wall that contains the plasma membrane to regulate the entry and exit of materials through the cell, the cell wall to help maintain cell shape and structure, and the glycocalyx, which aids against drying out and protects bacteria from a host's immune system

Explanation:

  • The cell wall is a layer surrounded by some cells. The cell wall will be flexible, tough and rigid sometimes. It giving protection and structural support to the cells. It also plays a main role in the filtering mechanism.
  • Plasma membrane or the cell membrane separates the interior cells from the outside cells. It also protects the cell from the outside environment.
  • The glycocalyx is the layer which contains polysaccharides. It helping to resist the host immune system and aids against drying out. And also allowing bacteria to stick on the surfaces.

Limited resources contribute to evolutionary change in animals by increasing
Shtirlitz [24]

<u>Answer:</u>

Limited resources contribute to evolutionary change in animals by increasing Intra-specific competition.

<u>Explanation:</u>

  • Intra-specific competition means competition among the members of same species.
  • Individual of same species have same ecological niche i.e. how an organism is related with biotic and abiotic aspect of environment.
  • So they require same resources of their survival. When population of any species increases then there is high chance of intra-specific competition because of limited resources.
  • Intra-specific competition also determine the population size of species. For example, competition among shark rodents.

Answer:

(2) 988.5 mb.

Explanation:

The air pressure descends as we ascend. In other words, they are inversely proportional.

The air pressure descends as we ascend the mountain because the air molecules that are above us in high altitudes are fewer than the number of air molecules that are above us in the base of the mountain. So, the exerted pressure of the molecules on ourselves is lower in high altitudes.

Due to the reason mentioned above, we can deduce that the only correct option is option number two since the other ones show increasing or the same pressure, which is not possible as we ascend.

Furkat [3]

Answer:

The answer is D. Calcium

Explanation:

The Electrolyte, according to the reference table in the question, which focuses mainly outside the body's cells is Calcium. Calcium has a value of 8 to 10 mEq / l in the extracellular fluid and 0.01 mg in the intracellular fluid. It is an electrolyte with positive charge: Ca ++.

The function of most proteins depends primarily on the what?
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

The function of a protein is directly dependent on its threedimensional structure (Figure 3.1). Remarkably, proteins spontaneously fold up into three-dimensional structures that are determined by the sequence of amino acids in the protein polymer.
