Here, you just want to solve for b. because the right side of the equation doesn't have any like terms, you have to factor that b out:

s = ab - bc
s = b(a - c)

divide both sides by (a - c)

s/(a - c) = b is your answer. it's "s" over "a - c" if the formatting is difficult to read

S=ab-bc
factorise it:
s=b(a-c)
divide by (a-c) to isolate 'b':
2/(a-c)=b

Hope this helps :)

Leviafan [203]

Answer:

t=\frac{201.77-200}{\frac{2.41}{\sqrt{10}}}=2.32

The degrees of freedom are given by:

df=n-1=10-1=9

The p value for this case is given by:

p_v =2*P(t_{(9)}>2.32)=0.0455

For this case since the p value is lower than the significance level we have enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis and we can conclude that the true mean is significantly different from 200 F.

Step-by-step explanation:

Information given

data: 202.2 203.4 200.5 202.5 206.3 198.0 203.7 200.8 201.3 199.0

We can calculate the sample mean and deviation with the following formulas:

\bar X= \frac{\sum_{i=1}^n X_i}{n}

\sigma=\sqrt{\frac{\sum_{i=1}^n (X_i -\bar X)^2}{n-1}}

\bar X=201.77 represent the sample mean

s=2.41 represent the sample standard deviation

n=10 sample size

\mu_o =200 represent the value that we want to test

\alpha=0.05 represent the significance level for the hypothesis test.

t would represent the statistic

p_v represent the p value for the test

Hypothesis to test

We want to determine if the true mean is equal to 200, the system of hypothesis are :

Null hypothesis:\mu = 200

Alternative hypothesis:\mu = 200

The statistic for this case is given by:

t=\frac{\bar X-\mu_o}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}} (1)

The statistic is given by:

t=\frac{201.77-200}{\frac{2.41}{\sqrt{10}}}=2.32

The degrees of freedom are given by:

df=n-1=10-1=9

The p value for this case is given by:

p_v =2*P(t_{(9)}>2.32)=0.0455

For this case since the p value is lower than the significance level we have enough evidence to reject the null hypothesis and we can conclude that the true mean is significantly different from 200 F.

A sequence is defined by mc024-1.jpg, and mc024-2.jpg. What is the seventh term?
abruzzese [7]
Given data :
a₃ = 9/16
aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
Where x is the number of terms ('x' is also written as 'n')
To find the 7th term (a₇):

We know that aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
So,
a₃ = -3/4 · a₃₋₁
a₃ = -3/4 · a₂
9/16 = -3/4 · a₂
a₂ = 9/16 × -4/3
a₂ = -36/48
a₂ = -3/4

Again,
aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
a₄ = -3/4 · a₄₋₁
a₄ = -3/4 · a₃
a₄ = -3/4 · 9/16
a₄ = -27/64
a₄ = -27/64

For a₅,
aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
a₅ = -3/4 · a₅₋₁
a₅ = -3/4 · a₄
a₅ = -3/4 × -27/64
a₅ = 81/256

For a₆,
aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
a₆ = -3/4 · a₆₋₁
a₆ = -3/4 · a₅
a₆ = -3/4 × 81/256
a₆ = -243/1024

For a₇,
aₓ = -3/4 · aₓ₋₁
a₇ = -3/4 · a₇₋₁
a₇ = -3/4 · a₆
a₇ = -3/4 × -243/1024
a₇ = 729/4096

What is the lateral area of a right rectangular prism that has rectangular bases measuring 3" by 5" and a height of 6"?
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

The answer is the option A

96\ in^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The lateral area of a right rectangular prism is equal to

LA=P*h

where

P is the perimeter of the base

h is the height of the prism

Find the perimeter

P=2*(3+5)=16\ in

h=6\ in

substitute in the formula

LA=16*6=96\ in^{2}
