We have IQ test scores of 31 seventh-grade girls in a Midwest school district. We have calculated that sample mean is 105.84 and

the standard deviation is 14.27.

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval for the average score in the population is between 99.24 and 112.44.

The margin of error is 6.60.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that to find our \alpha level, that is the subtraction of 1 by the confidence interval divided by 2. So:

\alpha = \frac{1-0.99}{2} = 0.005

Now, we have to find z in the Ztable as such z has a pvalue of 1-\alpha.

So it is z with a pvalue of 1-0.005 = 0.995, so z = 2.575

Now, find the margin of error M as such

M = z*\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In which \sigma is the standard deviation of the population and n is the size of the sample.

M = 2.575*\frac{14.27}{\sqrt{31}} = 6.60

The lower end of the interval is the mean subtracted by M. So it is 105.84 - 6.60 = 99.24

The upper end of the interval is the mean added to M. So it is 105.84 + 6.60 = 112.44

The 99% confidence interval for the average score in the population is between 99.24 and 112.44.

Find the coefficient of x2 in (3x2 – 5) (4 + 4x2), expand using algebraic expressions and answer
Scilla [17]

Answer:

- 8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(3x² - 5)(4 + 4x²)

Each term in the second factor is multiplied by each term in the first factor, that is

3x²(4 + 4x²) - 5 (4 + 4x²) ← distribute both parenthesis

= 12x² + 12x^{4} - 20 - 20x² ← collect like terms

= 12x^{4} - 8x² - 20

The coefficient of the x² term is - 8

In hypothesis testing, does choosing between the critical value method or the P-value method affect your conclusion? Explain.
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is No.

Choosing between the critical value method or the P-value method does not affect one's conclusion because both methods look at the probability of the test statistic's and its level of significance .

Given the methodology utilized by both methods, they usually arrive at the same conclusion.

Cheers!

In the diagram below what is the approximate length of the minor arc XY
GalinKa [24]
The answer is B.

The formula for arc length is s = r(theta) Theta must be in radians, so convert 40 degrees to radians, which is 2pi/9. Multiply 2pi/9 by the radius, 9, and then you'll get the answer. Hopes this helps!

A teacher reviews 4-1/2 papers per hour, how many papers will that teacher review in 6-1/3 hours
MrRa [10]

Answer:

28\frac{1}{2}\ papers

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Convert mixed numbers to an improper fractions

4\frac{1}{2}=\frac{4*2+1}{2}=\frac{9}{2}

6\frac{1}{3}=\frac{6*3+1}{3}=\frac{19}{3}

step 2

we know that

A teacher reviews 9/2 papers per hour

using proportion

Find how many papers will the teacher review in 19/3 hours

Let

x-----> the number of papers

(9/2)/1=x/(19/3)

x=(19/3)(9/2)

x=28.5\ papers

Convert to mixed numbers

28.5=28\frac{1}{2}\ papers
