A student's calibration curve for Blue #1 at 635 nm yields a straight line described by the equation y = 0.194 x + 0.025. If the

measured absorbance for a solution of unknown concentration of Blue #1 is 0.293, what is the concentration of the Blue #1 solution? Provide your response to three digits after the decimal.

Answer:

1.38 M is the concentration of blue solution.

Explanation:

The equation of calibration curve:

A=\epsilon \times l\times c

where,

A = absorbance of solution

C = concentration of solution

l = path length

\epsilon = molar absorptivity coefficient

The graph between A and c will straight line with slope equal to prduct of \epsilon and l.

y = 0.194 x + 0.025.

A = 0.194 c+ 0.025

Given the absorbance of solution :

A = 0.293

So, concentration at this value of absorbance will be= c

0.293=0.194 c+0.025

c=\frac{0.293-0.025}{0.194}=1.381\approx 1.38

1.38 M is the concentration of blue solution.

2 physical changes that happen in aquaponics
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

The physical and chemical change that occurs in the aquaponics are given below.

Explanation:

The plants and animals grow in size and decrease the mass of plant due to eating by the fishes is a physical changes which occurs in aquaponics. The sunlight has a heat energy which is absorb by the plants present in aquaponics which is a type of endothermic reaction. In aquaponics, the ammonia present in water is converted into nitrates which is used by the plants as a nutrients. When the mass is converted into energy, it increases the temperature of the ecosystem and also the earth surface. For example, if a wood is burn, it change into heat energy which increases the temperature and cause the global warming on the earth surface.

11. A sample contains 25% water and weighs 201 grams. Determine the grams of water in the
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

m_{water}=50.25g

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, considering that the by-mass percent of water is:

\% m/m=\frac{m_{water}}{m_{sample}}*100\%

Given such percent and the mass of the sample, we can find the mass of water in grams in the sample by solving for it as shown below:

m_{water}=\frac{\%m/m*m_{sample}}{100\%}\\ \\m_{water}=\frac{25\%*201g}{100\%}\\ \\m_{water}=50.25g

Best regards.

If a gas has a volume of 750 mL at 25oC, what would the volume of the gas be at 55oC?
blagie [28]

Answer:

The answer to your question is     V2 = 825.5 ml

Explanation:

Data

Volume 1 = 750 ml

Temperature 1 = 25°C

Volume 2= ?

Temperature 2 = 55°C

Process

Use the Charles' law to solve this problem

                V1/T1 = V2/T2

-Solve for V2

                V2 = V1T2 / T1

-Convert temperature to °K

T1 = 25 + 273 = 298°K

T2 = 55 + 273 = 328°K

-Substitution

                V2 = (750 x 328) / 298

-Simplification

                V2 = 246000 / 298

-Result

                V2 = 825.5 ml
