Sort of, say you take 99% off of something that is $100. You will end up paying $1. Then if you take another 99% off, you wil pay $0.01. Takig another 99% off will give you $0.001, but money only goes to two decimal points, so its free from a money standpoint, but there is still a cost.

The Institute of Education Sciences measures the high school dropout rate as the percentage of 16- through 24-year-olds who are
n200080 [17]

Answer:

Z_{H_0}= -1.85

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

The high school dropout rate, as a percentage of 16- through 24- year-olds who are not enrolled in school and have not earned a high school credential was is 2009 8.1%.

To thest the claim that this percentage has decreased, a polling company takes a random sample of 1000 people between the ages of 16 and 24 and finds out that 6.5% of them are highschool dropouts.

The study variable is

X: Number of individuals with age between 16 and 24 years old that are highschool dropouts.

The parameter of interest is the proportion fo highschool dropouts p

And the sample proportion is p'= 0.065

The hypotheses are:

H₀: p ≥ 0.081

H₁: p < 0.081

To study the population proportion, you have to approximate the distribution of the sampling proportion to normal applying the Central Limit Theorem, then the statistic to use is an approximate standard normal:

Z_{H_0}= \frac{(p'-p)}{\sqrt{\frac{p*(1-p)}{n} } } = \frac{0.065-0.081}{\sqrt{\frac{0.081*0.919}{1000} } } = -1.85

I hope this helps!

Tariq wrote the equation y=3.2x to represent the line of best fit for the data shown. Is his line a good representation for the
Setler79 [48]

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

The way to find the line of best fit by estimate is to have about half the points be above and below the line of best fit. In this case Tariq followed the first few points of the data but his estimate would be very off after 10 on the x axis.  This would not accurately predict what the next data point could be.

Interpret the graph to determine the statement the manager at a building supply store can use to help a customer determine how m
svp [43]

Answer:

Each gallon of primer will cover a maximum of 200 square feet

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-axis of the graph is the area to paint in square feet.  The y-axis of the graph is the number of gallons of primer needed.

We can see that 1 gallon of primer covers from 0 to 200 feet; 2 gallons of primer covers from 200 to 400 feet; etc.

This tells us that each gallon of primer covers a maximum of 200 square feet.
