The scores of individual students on the American College Testing (ACT), college readiness assessment, have a Normal distributio

n with a mean of 18.6 and a standard deviation of 6.0. At Northside High, 36 seniors take the test. Assume the scores at this school have the same distribution as national scores. What is the standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample mean score for a random sample of 36 students

Answer:

The standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample mean score for a random sample of 36 students is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Central Limit Theorem estabilishes that, for a normally distributed random variable X, with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the sampling distribution of the sample means with size n can be approximated to a normal distribution with mean \mu and standard deviation s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}.

For a skewed variable, the Central Limit Theorem can also be applied, as long as n is at least 30.

In this problem, we have that:

\sigma = 6, n = 36

Then, by the Central Limit Theorem:

s = \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

s = \frac{6}{\sqrt{36}}

s = 1

The standard deviation of the sampling distribution of the sample mean score for a random sample of 36 students is 1.

Luis has saved $6. he doubles the amount he saves each week.does this represent an exponential function?complete:
Ilya [14]

Answer:

This 6(2)^{n-1} represent an exponential function, because his savings increase by a constant factor of 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that,

Luis has saved $6 and he doubles the amount each week.

So, the amount saved in the next week = 6×2 = 12

This gives the amount saved in the third week = 12×2 = 24

So, we get the sequence 6, 12, 24, 48,.....

It can be written as, 6×2⁰, 6×2¹, 6×2², 6×2³,.....

So, the sequence in the exponential form 6(2)^{n-1}, where 'n' is a natural number.

Also, 6, 12, 24, 48,.....

The numbers are increasing by the factor = \frac{12}{6}=\frac{24}{12}=....=2

Hence, we get,

This 6(2)^{n-1} represent an exponential function, because his savings increase by a constant factor of 2.

The sun subtend an angle at 35degree from the centre of the earth whose distant from the centre of the earth is 382,100km. Find
Sonbull [250]

Study the figure attached below:

Answer:

240951.33km

Step-by-step explanation:

For this type of question first we need to draw the figure as shown in the attached file (Figure.1).

Looking at the figure, we can see that triangle ABC is formed by bisecting the angle 35 degree (i.e. if the angle is bisected, it will divide into two equal parts, so 35 degree will divide into two equal parts of 17.5 degree).

As the triangle ABC is a right triangle, so we can use the trigonometric ratios to find the diameter of the sun.

tan(\theta )= \frac{perpendicular}{Base}

In the triangle ABC, perpendicular (opposite side to \theta ) is BC and base (Adjacent side) is AC

tan(\theta)=\frac{BC}{AC}

\theta=17.5 degree

AC=382100km

Putting the values, we get

tan(17.5)=\frac{BC}{382100}\\ \\BC=tan(17.5)*382100km\\\\BC=0.315*382100km\\\\BC=120475.66km

Diameter=d=2*Radius

As BC is the distance from center of the sun, it is the radius, so we can find the diameter if we multiply it by 2.

Diameter of the sun=d=2*120475.66km

The\ diameter\ of\ the\ sun\ = 240951.33km

According to some internet research, 85.2% of adult Americans have some form of medical insurance, and 75.9% of adult Americans
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

0.717 or 71.7%

Step-by-step explanation:

P(M) = 0.852

P(D) = 0.759

P(M or D) = 0.894

The probability that a randomly selected American has both medical and dental insurance is given by the probability of having medical insurance, added to the probability of having dental insurance, minus the probability of having either insurance:

P(M\ and\ D) = P(M)+P(D)-P(M\ or\ D)\\P(M\ and\ D) =0.852+0.759-0.894\\P(M\ and\ D) =0.717=71.7\%

The probability is 0.717 or 71.7%.

what do i write for this " Write a problem that requires adding 1 to the quotient when interpreting the remainder."
Mariana [72]
You should write a ( real world situation ) question that can only have whole numbers as a solution because you would divide and then you can not have a fraction left over so instead you add one. For instance there are 132 students going on a field trip. 20 students can fit on each bus. how many buses are needed? 7 because when you divide 132 by 20 you get 6 remainder 12. You can not just make 12 students walk to the location so you would add an extra bus.
