Answer: B

Molarity is defined as M=(m/mw)/L solution where M is molarity, m is weight, mw is molar weight and L is liters.

First we plug in the mass, which is 5, then divide by the molar weight of 39.9969 which can just be rounded to 40.

Then we convert 750mL to liters which would be 0.75 liters. The root "milli" is x10-3, therefore we convert it to become 0.75L.

Now we just solve the equation, 5/40/0.75 is 0.166 repeating decimal, or just 0.167 rounding to three significant digits.

Cyclohexane has a freezing point of 6.50 ∘C and a Kf of 20.0 ∘C/m. What is the freezing point of a solution made by dissolving 0
ExtremeBDS [4]

Answer:

The freezing point will be 2.9^{0}C

Explanation:

The depression in freezing point is a colligative property.

It is related to molality as:

Depressioninfreezing point=K_{f}Xmolality

Where

Kf= 20\frac{^{0}C}{m}

the molality is calculated as:

molality=\frac{moles_{solute}}{mass_{solvent}}

moles=\frac{mass}{molarmass}=\frac{0.694}{154}=0.0045mol

massofcyclohexane=25g=0.025Kg

molarity=\frac{0.0045}{0.025}=0.18m

Depression in freezing point = 20X0.18=3.6^{0}C

The new freezing point = 6.5^{0}C-3.6^{0}C=2.9^{0}C

A Mole of elephants would weigh how much more than the moon? I got 6.301x10^23 and set the problem up like this: 6.022x10^23 x 2
Margaret [11]

Answer:

The Moon weighs about 7.349*10^22 kg

How much does “an elephant” weigh? Grown-up elephants vary between 1.7 tons (small wood elephant cow) and 6 tons (big African elephant bull). Let us pick 2.720 tons or 2720 kg as an average weigh one, this is valid for Asian elephants.

A mole of elephants weighs 6.022 * 10^23 x 2720 kg = 1.638 * 10^27 kg.

That is 1,638 * 10^27 / 7,349*10^22 = 22289 times more.

How much heat must be removed from 25.0g of steam at 118.0C in order to form ice at 15C
NemiM [27]

Answer:

-10778.95 J heat must be removed in order to form the ice at 15 °C.

Explanation:

Given data:

mass of steam = 25 g

Initial temperature = 118 °C

Final temperature = 15 °C

Heat released = ?

Solution:

Formula:

q = m . c . ΔT

we know that specific heat of water is 4.186 J/g.°C

ΔT = final temperature - initial temperature

ΔT = 15 °C - 118 °C

ΔT = -103 °C

now we will put the values in formula

q = m . c . ΔT

q = 25 g × 4.186 J/g.°C × -103 °C

q = -10778.95 J

so, -10778.95 J heat must be removed in order to form the ice at 15 °C.
