Cynthia is 6 times as old as Rebecca. In 6 years, Cynthia will be only 3 times as old as Rebecca. How old is Rebecca now?

7 0

Answer:

16 y.o

Step-by-step explanation:

say rebecca = x

therefore, cynthia = 6x

when rebecca ages 6 years (x+6), cynthia will be 3(x+6) years old

since cynthia's original age + 6 will be equal to the new expression of her age after 6 years

3x + 18 = 6x + 6

18 = 3x + 6

3x = 12

x = 4

as cynthia = x + 6 (NOTE: AT THE BEGINNING) her original age was 10.

however after 6 years she's 16

The vertices of ΔRST are R(–1,–1), S(–1,11) and T(4,11). Which could be the side lengths of a triangle that is similar but not c
Step2247 [10]
The side lengths could be 10, 24 and 26 units.

We must first find the side lengths.  We use the distance formula to do this.

For RT:
d=\sqrt{(11--1)^2+(-1--1)^2}
\\=\sqrt{(11+1)^2+(-1+1)^2}
\\=\sqrt{12^2+0^2}=\sqrt{144}=12

For ST:
d=\sqrt{(11-11)^2+(4--1)^2}
\\=\sqrt{0^2+(4+1)^2}=\sqrt{5^2}=\sqrt{25}=5

For TR:
d=\sqrt{(11--1)^2+(4--1)^2}
\\=\sqrt{(11+1)^2+(4+1)^2}=\sqrt{12^2+5^2}=\sqrt{144+25}=\sqrt{169}=13

Our side lengths, from least to greatest, are 5, 12 and 13.

To be similar but not congruent, the side lengths must have the same ratio between corresponding sides but not be the same length.  10, 24 and 26 are all 2x the original side lengths, so this works.

Thank you for posting your question here at brainly. I hope the answer will help you. Feel free to ask more questions here.
<span>
it consists of a rectangle, dimensions  L = 4ft and W = 3ft = Ar = 4ft x 3ft = 12 ft^2

</span>then, you have one half of the area of the circle that has diameter  R = 3ft - radius will be r = 1.5ft the area of that half will be:

Ac = r^2 \pi/ 2
= (1.5 ft)^2 x 3.14 / 2
= 2.25 ft^2 x 3.4/2
= 7.065 ft^2/ 2
= 3.5325ft^2

A = Ar + Ac
A = 12ft^2 + 3.5325ft^2
A = 15.5325ft^2

<span>At the rate of $2 per square foot, the cost will be:
$ 15.5325*2 = 31.07 </span>
