Answer:

Cost of one canvas $1, one brush $2 and one pastel $3

Step-by-step explanation:

John and his friends bought pastels, brushes and canvases at an art supply store.

Let the price of each pastel represents by 'p', each brushes represents by 'b' and each canvas represents by 'c'.

John purchased 3 pastels, 4 brushes and 5 canvases for $22. The equation will be,

3p + 4b + 5c = 22 .......(1)

Robin purchased 2 pastels 5 brushes and 7 canvases for $23. The equation will be,

2p + 5b + 7c = 23.......(2)

Andrew purchased 4 pastels, 3 brushes and 6 canvases for $24. The equation will be,

4p + 3b + 6c = 24.........(3)

Now multiply equation (1) by 2 and equation (2) by 3.

6p + 8b + 10c = 44 ......(4)

6p + 15b + 21c = 69........(5)

After subtracting from equation (5) to (4)

7b + 11c = 25 .......(6)

multiplying equation (2) by 2

4p + 10b + 14c = 46.........(7)

subtracting equation (3) from equation (7)

7b + 8c = 22

and subtracting from equation (6)

3c = 3

c = 1

putting the value of c in equation (6)

7b + 11(1) = 25

7b + 11 = 25

7b = 25 - 11

7b = 14

b = 2

Put the value of c and b in equation (1)

3p + 4(2) + 5(1) = 22

3p + 8 = 22 - 5

3p = 17 - 8

3p = 9

p = 3

Cost of one canvas $1, one brush $2 and one pastel $3.

Triangles ΔABC ≅ ΔBAD so that C and D lie in the opposite semi-planes of segment AB. Prove that segment CD bisects segment AD.
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

See explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Triangles ΔABC and ΔBAD are congruent. So,

  • AB ≅ BA;
  • AC ≅ BD;
  • BC ≅ AD;
  • ∠ABC ≅ ∠BAD;
  • ∠BCA ≅ ∠ADB;
  • ∠CAB ≅ ∠DBA.

Consider triangles AEC and BED. In these triangles,

  • AC ≅ BD;
  • ∠EAC ≅ ∠EBD (because ∠CBA ≅ ∠BAD);
  • ∠AEC ≅ ∠BED (as vertical angles).

So, ΔAEC ≅ ΔBED. Thus,

AE ≅ EB.

This means that segment CD bisects segment AD.

Each day that a library book is kept past its due date, a $0.30 fee is charged at midnight. Which ordered pair is viable solutio
madam [21]

Let's say the number of days library book is late is X, and the total fee is Y.

Liability charges $0.30 dollars as a fee for being 1 day late,

For being 1 day late, fee charge is: 1* $0.30

So, for X days the charge would be: X*$0.30.

Total charge for being X days late is Y, Which means: Y= 0.30 * X.

Now We would have to check all the viable solutions in the answer to see if they satisfy the equation Y= 0.30 * X

Option one(-3, -0.9) and two (-2.5, -0.75) Would not be a viable solution because the value of number of days can not be negative and in option one and two, value of days -3 and -2.5 is negative.

Option three(4.5, 1.35) can not be correct because library charges fee for a full day so the number for days would be a whole number. Library would not charge for 4.5 days, they would either charge of 4 days or 5 days because 4.5 is not an whole number.

Option four(8, 2.40) is the correct answer because it satisfies our equation;

Y= 0.30 * X

2.40= 0.30 * 8

2.40 = 2.40.

Fourth option (8, 2.40) is the only viable solution to this question.

vodomira [7]

Answer:

This would probely be 266.

Step-by-step explanation:

There are three kids so I would divide them by three. Or multiply 266 by three. Of course there would still be 2$ left.

9. The average diameter of an atom is 2 x 10-8 m. What if the average diameter of an atom was 1 cm? How tall would you be?
ozzi

Answer:

You'd be 2 * 10^{-6} times tall

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Represent the previous and new diameter by D1 and D2;

D_1 = 2 * 10^{-8}m

D_2 = 1\ cm

To determine how tall you'd be, we need to divide D2 by D1;

Ratio = \frac{D_2}{D_1}

Substitute values for D2 and D1

Ratio = \frac{2 * 10^{-8}m}{1\ cm}

Convert cm to m

Ratio = \frac{2 * 10^{-8}m}{1 * 0.01\ m}

Ratio = \frac{2 * 10^{-8}m}{0.01\ m}

Convert denominator to exponents

Ratio = \frac{2 * 10^{-8}m}{10^{-2}\ m}

Ratio = \frac{2 * 10^{-8}}{10^{-2}}

Apply Law of indices

Ratio = 2 * 10^{-8} * 10^2

Ratio = 2 * 10^{-8+2}

Ratio = 2 * 10^{-6}

Hence;

<em>You'd be </em>2 * 10^{-6}<em> times tall</em>

Mary has some boxes that are all cubes of the same size she uses 5 of the boxes to make a tower with a height of 115 cm she puts
liberstina [14]

Answer:

161 centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the total height, we need to find the wait of each individual box. Since we have five boxes stacked up on each other with a height of 115, we can divide 115 by 5 to get 23. Now that we know that each box is 23 centimeters tall, we can multiply that by 2 because 2 more boxes were added, and then add that to 115.

115/5=23

23*2=46

46+115=161

Hope this helps!
