A circular cardboard piece is needed for the base of a volcano model. The volcano is 46 centimeters tall and has a volume of 800

cubic centimeters. Which equation can be used to find the area of the circular base? 46 = one-third (B) squared (800) 46 = one-third (B) (800) 800 = one-third (B squared) (46) 800 = one-third (B) (46)

Answer:

800 = Ab \times46

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we can model the problem as a cylinder.

The volume of a cylinder is given by:

V = Ab \times h

Where,

Ab: base area

h: cylinder height

The volcano is 46 centimeters tall and has a

volume of 800 cubic centimeters.

Substituting values in the equation we have:

800 = Ab\times 46

From here, we can clear the area of the base

Answer:

An equation that can be used to find the area of the circular base is:

800 = Ab \times46

Elena bikes 20 minutes each day for exercise. Write an equation to describe the relationship between her distance in miles, D, a
ValentinkaMS [17]

Answer:

The equation to describe the relationship between Elena distance:

a) D = 4.34 miles, b) D = 4.25 miles and c) 12D = M + 3N miles.

Solution:

Given, Elena bikes 20 minutes each day for exercise.

We have to write an equation to describe the relationship between her distance in miles, D, and her biking speed, in miles per hour,

We know that, distance travelled = speed time

a. At a constant speed of 13 miles per hour for the entire 20 minutes

Her speed is 13 miles per hour.

Then, distance D miles = 13 miles per hour 20 minutes

b. At a constant speed of 15 minutes per hour for the first 5 minutes, then at 12 miles per hour for the last 15 minutes

Now, total distance travelled = distance travelled with 15 mph + distance travelled with 12 mph

c. At a constant speed of M miles per hour for the first 5 minutes, then at N miles per hour for the last 15 minutes

Now, total distance travelled = distance travelled with M mph + distance travelled with N mph

Hence, a) D = 4.34 miles, b) D = 4.25 miles and c) 12D = M + 3N miles.

The equation 1.5r + 15 = 2.25r represents the number r of movies you must rent to spend the same amount at each movie store. how
EleoNora [17]
1.5r+15=2.25r
First of all, you have to arrange the numbers according to those similar to them. So that will be;
15=2.25r-1.5r
1.5r is subtracted from 2.25r because it crossed over an equality sign to get its position close to 2.25r. And when a number crosses over an equality sign, the sign on the number chages to the opposite. 1.5r has an invisible positive sign which became negative when it crossed. Anyway;
2.25r-1.5r is the same as 2.25-1.5. And that is 0.75r
 Therefore;
15=0.75r
To find out what r is, you have to divide the both sides by 0.75. This is done to remove the 0.75 close to r to finally reveal what r is. Anyway;
15/0.75=0.75r/0.75
15 divided by 0.75 is 20. And 0.75r divided by 0.75 is r. So;
20=r
r=20. So the answer is 20 movies. Hope i helped. Have a nice day.

If f(x) = −3x + 4 and g(x) = 2, solve for the value of x for which f(x) = g(x) is true.
Komok [63]

Answer

2/3

Explanation

For f(x) = g(x) we should equate the two functions to get the value of x.

f(x) = g(x)

−3x + 4 = 2

-3x + 4 - 4 = 2 - 4

-3x = -2

Dividing by -3 on both sides;

(-3x)/-3 = (-2)/-3

 x = 2/3

give an example of an addition problem in which you would and would not group the addends differently to add
Montano1993 [528]
If you're adding positive numbers together, then the order in which you write or group the addends doesn't matter.

If you're "adding" a negative number to a positive number, it's a little easier to visualize this problem if you write the positive number first, followed by the negative number.

But if you're "adding" -15 to 8, it'd make sense to write the -15 first (because its magnitude is greater) and then the 8: -15 + 8 = -7
