The amount of space covered by the frosting = The sum of the areas of the sides that we can find in this L shaped cake diagram.

The sides of this cake, are shaped like a rectangle.

a) Side 1 = Rectangle on the left

Area of a Rectangle = Length × Breadth

Length = 30cm

Breadth =10cm

Area = 30 × 10 = 300cm²
