A statistics student gave a survey to students which asked how many first cousins they have. The data from the first nine respon

ses are shown below.
6, 2, 7, 8, 8, 8, 5, 10, 10

What is the IQR of the data?

Given:

Date set for number of cousins is

6, 2, 7, 8, 8, 8, 5, 10, 10

To find:

The IQR of the data.

Solution:

We have,

6, 2, 7, 8, 8, 8, 5, 10, 10

Arrange the data ascending order.

2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 8, 8, 10, 10

Divide the data in two equal parts.

(2, 5, 6, 7), 8,( 8, 8, 10, 10)

Divide each parenthesis in two equal parts.

(2, 5), (6, 7), 8, (8, 8), (10, 10)

Now,

Q_1=\dfrac{5+6}{2}

Q_1=\dfrac{11}{2}

Q_1=5.5

and,

Q_3=\dfrac{8+10}{2}

Q_3=\dfrac{18}{2}

Q_3=9

The interquartile range (IQR) of the  data set is

IQR=Q_3-Q_1

IQR=9-5.5

IQR=3.5

The IQR is 3.5 first cousins.

Therefore, the correct option is C.

Jaxon and Isaac live different directions from the city center. Jaxon lives 10 blocks east and 5 blocks north. Isaac lives 8 blo
givi [52]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

As shown in the figure attached Jaxon is 10 blocks east and 5 blocks north.

So x-coordinates of Jaxon will be 10 units and y-coordinates will be 5 units.

and coordinates will be (10,5)

Similarly coordinates of Isaac will be defined by his distance towards west and distance towards south.

So x-coordinates will be 8 units and y-coordinates will be 15 units.

Therefore, coordinates of Isaac will be (-8,-15).

you roll a number cube twice. find p(even, then not 2). Write the probability as a fraction in simplest form.
aksik [14]
For the first roll, you expect that you would get an even number. Since there are six sides of a die, then there are 3 ways to get an even number which are numbers 2, 4 and 6. So the probability of an even number is 3/6 or 1/2.
Next for the second roll, you expect that you should not get a number 2. There are 5 ways occurring which are 1, 3, 4, 5, 6. So the probability for this is 5/6.
Multiply the two probabilities because both probabilities will occur for this event.
P(even, then not 2) = (1/2)(5/6) = 5/12

Anita is a door-to-door saleswoman for a company selling bedcovers. The company pays her a fixed salary of Rs W every month and
lorasvet [3.4K]

Given:

Anita's fixed salary = Rs. W

Bonus = Rs. Z for every bedcover sold by her.

To find:

Her total earnings if she sold 46 bedcovers.

Solution:

We have,

Bonus if she sold 1 bedcover = Rs. Z

Bonus if she sold 46 bedcover = Rs. Z × 46

We know that,

Total earnings = Fixed salary + Bonus

                        = W+Z\times 46

Therefore, the correct option is (b).

9+3= 12 gallons

<u><em>To make sure 12 was the original number, subtract 12 from 9. </em></u>

Joni earned $0.625 per day for two days as interest on her $1,000.00 investment. What percent interest did she earn in total? Gi
Kitty [74]

Joni’s total interest earned is 0.125% of her investment.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given that

Interest earned by Joni per day = $0.625

Investment done by Joni = $1000

Duration of earning interest = 2 days

Total interest earned = interest earned by Joni \times duration of interest earned.

= 0.625 \times 2 = $1.25

\text { Percentage of interest earned }=\frac{\text {total interest earned}}{\text {investment done}} \times 100

=\frac{125}{1000} \times 100=0.125 \%

So Joni’s total interest earned is 0.125% of her investment.
