The correct format of the question is

At the end of 2006, the population of Riverside was 400 people. The population for this small town can be modeled by the equation below, where t represents the number of years since the end of 2006 and P represents the number of people. P = 400 ( 1.2 )^ t Based on this model, approximately what was the increase in the population of Riverside at the end of 2009 compared to the end of 2006?

(A) 291

(B) 691

(C) 1040

(D) 1440

Answer:

The increase in the population at the end of 2009 is 291 people

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the equation as P = 400 ( 1.2 )^ t

where

P = No of People

t= No of Years

it is given that in the year 2006 the population is 400

this will only happen when we take t= 0

so for

Year    value of t

2006-    t = 0

2007-    t  = 1

2008-    t = 2

2009     t = 3

No of people in 2009 will be

P = 400(1.2)^3

     = 400*1.728

   P  = 691.2

Since the equation represents no of people so it can't be in decimals, Therefore the population will be 691

Increase = P(2009) - P(2006)

               = 691 - 400

                = 291

The increase in the population at the end of 2009 is 291 people.

The diameter of Circle Q terminates on the circumference of the circle at (0,3) and (0,-4). Write the equation of the circle in
Gnesinka [82]
First, determine the center of the circle by getting the midpoint of the points given for the circumference.
                    midpoint = ((0 + 0)/2, (3 + -4)/2)
                          midpoint (0, -0.5)
Then, we get the radius by determining the distance from either of the circumferential point to the center.
                        radius = √(0 -  0)² + (3 +4)²  = 7
The equation for the circle would be,
                        x² + (y + 0.5)² = 7²

If c (x) = StartFraction 5 Over x minus 2 EndFraction and d(x) = x + 3, what is the domain of (cd)(x)?
Volgvan

Answer:

The domain of the function (cd)(x) will be all real values of x except x = 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

The two functions are c(x) = \frac{5}{x - 2} and d(x) = x + 3

So, (cd)(x) = (\frac{5}{x - 2})(x + 3) = \frac{5(x + 3)}{x - 2}

Then, for x = 2 the function (cd)(x) will be undefined as zero in the denominator will make the function (cd)(x) undefined.

Therefore, the domain of the function (cd)(x) will be all real values of x except x = 2. (Answer)

BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

(a) 16 students failed for exactly two of the three reasons.

(b) 7 students failed because of poor attendance and not studying but not because of not turning in assignments.

(c) 14 students failed because of exactly one of the three reasons.

(d) 3 students failed because of poor attendance and not turning in assignments but not because of not studying.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that one semester in a chemistry class, 14 students failed due to poor attendance, 23 failed due to not studying, 15 failed because they did not turn in assignments, 9 failed because of poor attendance and not studying, 8 failed because of not studying and not turning in assignments, 5 failed because of poor attendance and not turning in assignments, and 2 failed because of all three of these reasons.

As shown in the diagram attached below, a Venn diagram represents the situation given in the question;

In the diagram below, 2 in represents purple color represents the number of students failed because of all three of these reasons.

7 represents the number of students who failed because of poor attendance and not studying but not due to not turning in assignments.

6 represents the number of students who failed because of not studying and not turning in assignments but not due to poor attendance.

3 represents the number of students who failed because of poor attendance and not turning in assignments but not due to not studying.

2 in red color represents the number of students who failed only due to poor attendance.

8 in red color represents the number of students who failed only due to not studying.

4 in red color represents the number of students who failed only due to not turning in assignments.

(a) The number of students who failed because of exactly two of the three reasons = 7 + 6 + 3 = 16 students.

(b) The number of students who failed because of poor attendance and not studying but not because of not turning in assignments = 9 - 2 = 7 students.

(c) The number of students who failed because of exactly one of the three reasons = 2 + 8 + 4 = 14 students.

(d) The number of students who failed because of poor attendance and not turning in assignments but not because of not studying = 5 - 2 = 3 students.

Hailey paid \$13$13dollar sign, 13 for 1\dfrac3{7} \text{ kg}1 7 3  kg1, start fraction, 3, divided by, 7, end fraction, start
hichkok12 [17]

Answer:

1kg of salami cost $9.1

Step-by-step explanation:

Hailey paid $13 for 1 3/7 kg of sliced salami.

What was the cost per kilogram of salami?

Cost of 1 3/7 kg of sliced salami=$13

1 3/7 kg=10/7kg

Let x=1 kg of sliced salami

10/7 kg of x=$13

$13=10/7x

13=10/7*x

x=13 ÷ 10/7

=13×7/10

=91/10

=9.1

x=$9.1

Therefore, 1kg of salami cost $9.1
