Bess [88]

Answer:

Intranet

Explanation:

An organization owns a private network which is called an intranet. Private means that the network is accessible to all those employed within the organization, staff of the company.

Intranet exists only within the company and indicates the following.

1. The company establishes its own network inside the company so that the staff of the company can access and exchange information among themselves.

2. The staff can communicate and have discussions on the network.

3. The information is not accessible to outside parties such as customers, stakeholders, and others.

4. The network is not accessible and does not exists for the outside parties.

5. The term intra means inside and net means network.

Intranet leads to the following benefits.

1. The staff can view and exchange information with more ease and comfort and in less time.

2. Faster access to information increases employee output. Employees can perform better and have more time to focus on their work.

3. Communication among the employees is encouraged and made easy. Any one can communicate with every one in the company.

4. More communication leads to better working relationships among the staff. Cooperation and collaboration among the staff is given a boost.

5. Staff can give their input for the type of information to be held in the respository. This serves as the single point of information which enables smooth work flow.

Intranet also has some drawbacks.

The employees can take undue advantage of this communication channel for personal communications and information exchange.

Unproductive communication can only hamper the culture of the workplace.

Guidelines should be enforced to avoid unnecessary communication.

Technologies

Intranet can be implemented by using both local area and wide area networks ( LAN and WAN ). The infrastructure needed for the intranet includes the resources used in both LAN and WAN.

Write a C# program named ProjectedRaises that includes a named constant representing next year’s anticipated 4 percent raise for
nydimaria [60]

Answer:

using System;

class ProjectedRaises {

 static void Main() {

     const float raise = 0.04f;

     double salary1 = 0.0f,salary2 = 0.0f,salary3 = 0.0f;

Console.WriteLine("Current salary for each employee: ");

     salary1 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

     salary2 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

     salary3 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine());

     salary1 = salary1 + raise * salary1;

     salary2 = salary2 + raise * salary2;

     salary3 = salary3 + raise * salary3;

     Console.WriteLine("Next year salary for the employees are: ");

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary1));

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary2));

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary3));

}

}

Explanation:

This declares and initializes variable raise as a float constant

     const float raise = 0.04f;

This declares the salary of each employee as double

     double salary1 = 0.0f,salary2 = 0.0f,salary3 = 0.0f;

This prompts the user for the salaries of the employee

Console.WriteLine("Current salary for each employee: ");

The next three lines get the salary of the employees

<em>      salary1 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine());</em>

<em>      salary2 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine()); </em>

<em>      salary3 = Single.Parse(Console.ReadLine()); </em>

The next three lines calculate the new salaries of the employees

<em>      salary1 = salary1 + raise * salary1;</em>

<em>      salary2 = salary2 + raise * salary2;</em>

<em>      salary3 = salary3 + raise * salary3;</em>

This prints the header

     Console.WriteLine("Next year salary for the employees are: ");

The next three lines print the new salaries of the employees

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary1));

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary2));

     Console.WriteLine(Math.Round(salary3));

#You may modify the lines of code above, but don't move them! #When you Submit your code, we'll change these lines to #assign di
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

The solution code is written in Python:

  1. mystery_string = "Programming"
  2. output = ""
  3. for x in mystery_string:
  4.    output += x
  5.    print(output)

Explanation:

Firstly, create a variable mystery_string to hold a random string (Line 1).

Create an output variable to hold an output string (Line 2).

Create a for-loop to traverse the mystery_string character by character (Line 4). In the iteration, get a character from the mystery_string, and concatenate it with output string (Line 5). Print the output string (Line 6) before proceed to the next iteration.

In this exercise you will debug the code which has been provided in the starter file. The code is intended to take two strings,
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

Here is the corrected program:

import java.util.Scanner; //to accept input from user

public class 02_14_Activity_one { //class name

    public static void main(String[] args) { //start of main method

    Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); //creates Scanner class object

  System.out.println("Enter first string"); //prompts user to enter first string

          String s1 = scan.nextLine(); //reads input string from user

  System.out.println("Enter second string"); //prompts user to enter second string

          String s2 = scan.nextLine(); //reads second input string from user

    System.out.println("Enter number of letters from each word"); //enter n

          int n = scan.nextInt(); //reads value of integer n from user

          System.out.println(s1.substring(0,n) + s2.substring(s2.length() - n ));

         } } //uses substring method to print a string made up of the first n letters of s1 and the last n letters of s2.

Explanation:

The errors were:

1.

Scanner scan = Scanner(System.in);

Here new keyword is missing to create object scan of Scanner class.

Corrected statement:

 Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in);

2.

String s1 = nextLine();

Here object scan is missing to call nextLine() method of class Scanner

Corrected statement:

String s1 = scan.nextLine();

3.

String s2 = Scanner.nextLine();

Here class is used instead of its object scan to access the method nextLine

Corrected statement:

String s2 = scan.nextLine();

4.

String n = scan.nextLine();

Here n is of type String but n is a whole number so it should be of type int. Also the method nextInt will be used to scan and accept an integer value

Corrected statement:

int n = scan.nextInt();

5.

System.out.println(s1.substring(1,n-1) + s2.substring(s1.length()-n));

This statement is also not correct

Corrected statement:

System.out.println(s1.substring(0,n) + s2.substring(s2.length() - n ));

This works as follows:

s1.substring(0,n) uses substring method to return a new string that is a substring of this s1. The substring begins at the 0th index of s1 and extends to the character at index n.

s2.substring(s2.length() - n ) uses substring method to return a new string that is a substring of this s2. The substring then uses length() method to get the length of s2 and subtracts integer n from it and thus returns the last n characters of s2.

The screenshot of program along with its output is attached.
