Answer:

Correct answer here is D: an incorrect assumption that forms the basis of an argument.

Explanation:

The reason for this comes from the definition of what a false premise is. Basically, a false premise is an assumption, or an idea, that may be wrong, or is false, and leads to a conclusion that may also be wrong, but that is not illogical. This means that, because the premise, the main assumption, is wrong, my conclusion to it may also be wrong, but this doesn´t mean that both the premise, and/or the conclusion, are illogical or impossible. For example, when we say: It is a nice day, because the sun is shinning. Because the sun is shinning is the premise, or assumption, that leads to the conclusion that the day is nice. These two are logical, but it doesn´t mean that the day is nice BECAUSE of the sun shinning. There may be other truer reasons for the day to be nice, other than the sun shinning, which may lead to the conclusion being wrong as well. This is why the correct answer is D.

The False Premise is best defined as “an incorrect assumption that forms the basis of an argument”.

Further Explanation:

A false premise is an “incorrect proposition” that forms the base of a syllogism or argument. If a premise is incorrect, then the conclusion drawn might have an error. It is an idea or an assumption that may be false or wrong and it would lead to the conclusion that might be also wrong but the conclusion will not be illogical.

Any argument from “false premises” is a “line of reasoning” that may lead to wrong or incorrect results. Whether the argument is “valid” or not is dependent on its consistency, not on whether the “premises” are true.

For example,

 • If the road is wet, it has rained today. (Premise)
 • The road is wet. (Premise)
 • Therefore it rained today. (Conclusion)

The given argument is logically “valid” but it is demonstrably quite wrong because the “first premise” is “False”.

kaheart [24]
I believe the answer is Beating and torturing animals is wrong.

straw man fallacy happens when you attack the unrelated argument. The aim for testing is not for torturing or beating the animal, therefore the counterclaim given is not attacking the claim provided earlier. Counterclaim about the right of the animal is more appropriate because the animal cannot refuse or give consent to the experiment.

zaharov [31]

The correct answer is True

According to psychology, perception consists of an organization and interpretation of the stimuli that were received by the senses and that makes it possible to identify certain objects and events.

Perception has two stages, the sensorial and the intellectual. The two complement each other, because sensations do not provide a real view of the world, and must be worked on by the intellect
