Answer : The car’s acceleration is, 2m/s^2

Solution :

Acceleration : It is defined as the change in the velocity of an object with respect to the time.

Formula used :

a=\frac{v_{final}-v_{initial}}{t}

where,

a = acceleration of car = ?

v_{final} = final velocity of car = 40 m/s

v_{initial} = initial velocity of car = 10 m/s

t = time taken = 15 s

Now put all the given values in this formula, we get the acceleration of car.

a=\frac{40m/s-10m/s}{15s}=2m/s^2

Therefore, the acceleration of car is, 2m/s^2

Compared to micellular Compound 1, Compound 2 is structurally more rigid as a result of what type of interaction?
zimovet [89]

Answer:

D. Intramolecular covalent bond

Explanation:

Compound D is structurally more rigid as a result of intramolecular covalent bonding. The forces that hold together atoms within a compound are greater as compared to forces holding two molecules together (intermolecular bonding). On the other hand Hydrogen bonds are weaker as compared to covalent bonds. Covalent bonds involve the sharing of electrons between two atoms and Hydrogen bonds are formed between a highly electronegative atom like oxygen, Flourine,Chlorine to hydrogen.

What is the pH of a solution made by mixing 15.00 mL of 0.100 M HCl with 50.00 mL of 0.100 M KOH? Assume that the volumes of the
denis23 [38]

Answer:

The correct answer is: pH = 12.73

Explanation:

The neutralization reaction between HCl and KOH is given by the following chemical equation:

HCl + KOH ⇒ KCl + H₂O

Since HCl is a strong acid and KOH is a strong base, HCl is completely dissociated into H⁺ and Cl⁻ ions, whereas KOH is dissociated completely into K⁺ and OH⁻ ions.

For acids, the number of equivalents is given by the moles of H⁺ ions (in this case: 1 equivalent per mol of HCl). For bases, the number of equivalents is given by the moles of OH⁻ ions (in this case: 1 equivalent per mol of KOH).

The H⁺ ions from HCl will react with OH⁻ ions of KOH to give H₂O. The pH is calculated from the difference between the equivalents of H⁺ and OH⁻:

equivalents of H⁺= volume HCl x Molarity HCl

                            = (15.0 mL x 1 L/1000 mL) x 0.100 mol/L

                            = 1.5 x 10⁻³ eq H⁺

equivalents of OH⁻= volume KOH x Molarity KOH

                               = (50.0 mL x 1 L/1000 mL) X 0.100 mol/L

                               = 5 x 10⁻³ eq OH⁻

There are more OH⁻ ions than H⁺ ions. The excess of OH⁻ (that did not react with H⁺ ions) is calculated as follows:

OH⁻ ions= (5 x 10⁻³ eq OH⁻) -  (1.5 x 10⁻³ eq H⁺) = 3.5 x 10⁻³ eq OH⁻= 3.5 x 10⁻³ moles OH⁻

As the volumes of the solutions are additive, the total volume of the solution is:

V= 15.0 mL + 50.0 mL = 65.0 mL= 0.065 L

So, the concentration of OH⁻ ions in the solution is given by:

[OH⁻] = moles OH⁻/V= (3.5 x 10⁻³ moles OH⁻)/0.065 L = 0.054 mol/L = 0.054 M

From [OH⁻], we can calculate pOH:

pOH = -log [OH⁻] = -log (0.054) = 1.27

Finally, we know that pH + pOH= 14; so we calculate pH:

pH= 14 - pOH = 14 - 1,27 =  12.73

Micky Mo is a 64-year-old male admitted to the emergency room for asthma. His laboratory results are as follows: pH 7.31, pCO2 h
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

Micky Mo is suffering from respiratory acidosis.

Explanation:

The pCO2 level in micky"s body is higher than normal it means the excess amount of CO2 will reacts with water to generate carbonic acid(H2CO3).

  On the other hand according to the question total HCO3- also higher than normal.As a result the excess HCO3- will react with proton to form carbonic acid which is in turn dissociate to generate CO2 and H2O to maintain normal acid base homeostasis.

From that point of view it can be said Micky Mo is suffering from respiratory acidosis.

Why does silver iodide have a higher melting point than vanillin
MAVERICK [17]
AgI has a higher melting point than vanillin because it is an ionic compound. The bonds are held more tightly together than in vanillin because it is a covalent compound. Ionic bonds have a higher melting point because the electrons are being transferred from one atom to the other.

7.744 Liters of nitrogen are contained in a container. Convert this amount to grams.
Xelga [282]

Answer:

9.69g

Explanation:

To obtain the desired result, first let us calculate the number of mole of N2 in 7.744L of the gas.

1mole of a gas occupies 22.4L at stp.

Therefore, Xmol of nitrogen gas(N2) will occupy 7.744L i.e

Xmol of N2 = 7.744/22.4 = 0.346 mole

Now let us convert 0.346 mole of N2 to gram in order to obtain the desired result. This is illustrated below:

Molar Mass of N2 = 2x14 = 28g/mol

Number of mole N2 = 0.346 mole

Mass of N2 =?

Mass = number of mole x molar Mass

Mass of N2 = 0.346 x 28

Mass of N2 = 9.69g

Therefore, 7.744L of N2 contains 9.69g of N2
