Compatible numbers are numbers which are easy to do mental calculation. For example is when doing division like 25 and 5, 100 and 10, and 36 and 6.

First, we know that: 7 pounds=5 pounds + 2 pounds

                                or 7=5+2

In mathematics, the word “of” means to multiply. So:

                                grapes given away = 7 * (2/5)

Replacing 7 with 5 and 2:

                                                                = (5+2)*(2/5)

Using the distribution principle:

                                                =5*(2/5) + 2*(2/5)

                                                =2+ 4/5

                                =2 4/5

So grapes given away is 2 4/5 pounds.

2/5 is close to 1/2, and it is easy to find 1/2 of 7 mentally. Half of 7 is 3.5, so Martin gave away about 3.5 pounds.

Natasha2012 [34]

Answer:

D. The difference of the means is not significant because the re-randomizations show that it is within the range of what could happen by chance.

Step-by-step explanation:

The treatment group using System A reported a mean of 18.5 lost bags per day. The treatment group using System B reported a mean of 16.6 lost bags per day.

The best conclusion that can be made is - The difference of the means is not significant because the re-randomizations show that it is within the range of what could happen by chance.

As we know, in statistics, nothing happens by chance. So, this option is correct.

Which statement about the ordered pairs (3, −8) and (4, 4) is true for the equation 3x−y4=113x−y4=11 ? a.(3, −8) is a solution t
adelina 88 [10]
3x - 4y = 11

For (3, -8): 3(3) - 4(-8) = 9 + 32 = 41 ≠ 11.

For (4, 4): 3(4) - 4(4) = 12 - 16 = -4 ≠ 11

Neither ordered pair is a solution.
