Answer:

70 packages of 8 pounds each

Step-by-step explanation:

A mail clerk found that the total weight of 155 packages was 815 pounds.

If each of the packages weighed either 3 pounds or 8 pounds.

Let x number of package of 3 pounds and y number of packages of 8 pounds

Total number of packages are 155

Thus,  x + y = 155 ------- ------(1)

Total weight of 3 pound package = 3x

Total weight of 8 pound package = 8y

Total weight of 155 packages = 815

Thus, 3x + 8y = 815 -----------(2)

Solving equation 1 and equation 2

Multiply first equation by -3

-3x - 3y = -465

3x + 8y =  815

        5y = 350

          y = 70

Hence, The number of packages of weighted 8 pounds are 70

For this on you need to set up two equations
x + y = 155 total number of packages
3x+8y=815 total weight
Then multiply both sides of the first equation by 3: 3x +3y = 465
Then combine the two equations by subtracting the first one from the second one which gets you 5y=350 so y = 70 so we have 70 packages weighting 8 pounds.

Write a real world problem that can be represented by the equation 3/4c=21
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer: Real world problem is "A student have c toffee he distribute \frac{3}{4}th part of those toffees to his friends. He gave total 21 toffees to his friend".

Explanation:

Let a student have c number of toffees in his bag.

It is given that he distribute \frac{3}{4}th part of those toffees to his friends.

The \frac{3}{4}th part of c toffees is,

\frac{3c}{4}

The total number of distributed toffees is 21.

\frac{3c}{4}=21

It is the same as given equation.

If we change the equation in words it means the \frac{3}{4}th part of a number c is 21.

PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

a). x = 11

b). m∠DMC = 39°

c). m∠MAD = 66°

d). m∠ADM = 36°

e). m∠ADC = 18°

Step-by-step explanation:

a). In the figure attached,

m∠AMC = 3x + 6

and m∠DMC = 6x - 49

Since "in-center" of a triangle is a points where the bisectors of internal angles meet.

Therefore, MC is the angle bisector of angle AMD.

and m∠AMC ≅ m∠DMC

3x + 6 = 8x - 49

8x - 3x = 49 + 6

5x = 55

x = 11

b). m∠DMC = 8x - 49

                   = (8 × 11) - 49

                   = 88 - 49

                   = 39°

c). m∠MAD = 2(m∠DAC)

                   = 2(30)°

                   = 60°

d). Since, m∠AMD + m∠ADM + m∠MAD = 180°

    2(39)° + m∠ADM + 66° = 180°

    78° + m∠ADM + 66° = 180°

    m∠ADM = 180° - 144°

                   = 36°

e). m∠ADC = \frac{1}{2}(m\angle ADM)

                   = \frac{1}{2}(36)

                   = 18°

Drag each expression to show whether it is equivalent to 6(4x−1), 24x+6, or (4⋅6x)+(4⋅2) somebody please help me i need to get t
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

6(4x-1) is equivalent to 24x-6 and (2*12x)-(2*3)

24x+6 is equivalent to 6(4x+1) and (6*4x)+(6*1)

(4*6x)+(4*2) is equivalent to 24x+8 and 4(6x+2)

Step-by-step explanation:

An equivalent expression is an expression which either simplified or factored is equal to it.

6(4x-1) is equivalent to 24x-6 and (2*12x)-(2*3)

24x+6 is equivalent to 6(4x+1) and (6*4x)+(6*1)

(4*6x)+(4*2) is equivalent to 24x+8 and 4(6x+2)

Alexa borrowed some money from her friend in order to help buy a new video game system. Alexa agreed to pay back her friend $10
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

L(t) = 170 - 10t

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount that Alexa owes after t weeks is given by a linear equation in the following format:

L(t) = L(0) - bt

In which L(0) is the initial amount borrowed and b is how much is paid per week.

Alexa agreed to pay back her friend $10 per week and originally borrowed $170.

This means that, respectivelly, b = 10, L(0) = 170. So

L(t) = L(0) - bt

L(t) = 170 - 10t
