This hearing reflex is due to the response of the inferior colliculus located at the back of the midbrain to stimuli such as noise. Basically, the inferior colliculus is the main auditorium of the human body. External sounds travel as sensory-auditory signals to the inferior colliculus through electrochemical currents so that they can process this information to the central brain. It consist of two front lobes corresponding to both ears. It regulates frequency recognition, pitch discrimination and signal integration. This is also what facilitates your selective hearing where you cannot hear your self-induced sounds like breathing and chewing.

NISA [10]

Answer:

Your instructor tells your class that you are all participating in a study on the effectiveness of note taking in class. The results show your class test scores improve significantly. Before concluding that your class takes effective notes, the research should be aware of the Interaction and group discussion.

Explanation:

It has been found that the performance of the students tends to increase when they are actively interacting in the class with instructor and colleagues. Interaction is the two-way process of communication where opinions about a common topic are shared between the involved parties.

Interaction helps in memorizing the facts and building a clear concept of the fact. These certainly tends to improve the result of students in tests and help attain better grade.

Bas_tet [7]

Hello. This question is incomplete. Full question is:

Read the fictitious killer Robot case found at the web site for the Online Ethics Center for Engineering & Science.

The case begins with the incitement of a programmer for manslaughter for writing a faulty code that resulted in the death of a robot operator. Slowly, over the course of many articles, you are introduced to several factors within the corporation that contributed to the accident. Read the case and answer the following questions:

Responsibility for an accident is rarely defined clearly and is often difficult to trace to one or two people or causes. In this fictitious case, it is clear that a large number of people share responsibility for the accident. Identify all the people you think were at least partially responsible for the death of Bart Matthews, and explain why you think so.

Answer and Explanation:

When reading the case indicated in the question above, we can see that it is a case where a poorly programmed industrial robot killed its operator. In this case, we can point out that the programmers of this robot are the first culprits. This is because the robot in question exhibited a violent and dangerous behavior that could have been avoided with correct programming and effective tests. This shows that the programmers did not have enough knowledge and experience to work on this project. This makes us able to point out other culprits that is the company that hired the programmers called Silicon Techtronics, as well as the manager and responsible for the project because it had the obligation to assess the degree of professionalism of the programmers, as well as ensuring the safety of employees.

irina1246 [14]

Europe was a major source of migrants because of the diminishing returns for the middle class in the mainland.

Explanation:

Europe had been colonizing new lands throughout the century and the condition at the home had been worsening for the middle class who sometimes found it better off to either move to a colony or to switch to another nation.

Thus, mass migrations happened especially towards the New World.

This was also the time of migrations to Australia New Zealand and other nations that were settled by Europeans who were in search of a better life.
