in the equation for Jacob the membership fee would be the 25

 so if Peter is paying 45, 45-25 = 20

 Peter is paying $20 more

Answer:

B) $20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The membership fee for peter = $ 45,

Also, the function that represents the total amount of money, y, in dollars, that Jacob pays for renting x number of video games is,

y=5x+25

Since, the membership must be free from the variable (x),

Thus, the membership fee for jacob = $ 25,

The difference between the membership of Peter and jacob = $ 45 - $ 25 = $ 20,

Hence, Peter pays $ 20 more membership fee than that of Jacob.

Option 'B' is correct.

erastovalidia [21]
Given:
50,000 salary
6,000 401K plan contribution of the employee
25% of employee's contribution is the 401K plan contribution of the employer.

6,000 x 25% = 1,500 employer's contribution
6,000 + 1,500 = 7,500

The total amount that was contributed to Jose's 401K plan last year was 7,500.

Shalnov [3]

Answer:

a) P(X=12)=(25C12)(0.6)^{12} (1-0.6)^{25-12}=0.0760

b) P(X>17) = P(X=18) +....+P(X=25)

And we can use the following excel code: "=1-BINOM.DIST(17;25,0.6,TRUE)"

And we got:

P(X>17) = P(X=18) +....+P(X=25)= 0.154

c) P(X

And using the following excel code we got: "=BINOM.DIST(7,25,0.6,TRUE)"

And we got:

P(X

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A Bernoulli trial is "a random experiment with exactly two possible outcomes, "success" and "failure", in which the probability of success is the same every time the experiment is conducted". And this experiment is a particular case of the binomial experiment.

The binomial distribution is a "DISCRETE probability distribution that summarizes the probability that a value will take one of two independent values under a given set of parameters. The assumptions for the binomial distribution are that there is only one outcome for each trial, each trial has the same probability of success, and each trial is mutually exclusive, or independent of each other".

The probability mass function for the Binomial distribution is given as:

P(X)=(nCx)(p)^x (1-p)^{n-x}

Where (nCx) means combinatory and it's given by this formula:

nCx=\frac{n!}{(n-x)! x!}

The complement rule is a theorem that provides a connection between the probability of an event and the probability of the complement of the event. Lat A the event of interest and A' the complement. The rule is defined by: P(A)+P(A') =1

Solution to the problem

Part a

P(X=12)=(25C12)(0.6)^{12} (1-0.6)^{25-12}=0.0760

Part b

For this case we want this probability:

P(X>17) = P(X=18) +....+P(X=25)

And we can use the following excel code: "=1-BINOM.DIST(17,25,0.6,TRUE)"

And we got:

P(X>17) = P(X=18) +....+P(X=25)= 0.154

Part c

For this case we want this probability:

P(X

And using the following excel code we got: "=BINOM.DIST(7,25,0.6,TRUE)"

And we got:

P(X

Gnom [1K]

Answer: We are 95% confident that the mean income for all residents of this city is between $26700 and $35400.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that a 95% confidence interval given an interval of values that we can be 95% sure , that it contains the true mean of the population, not 95% of data lies in it.

Given : A researcher is estimating the mean income of residents in a large city. The income variable is usually skewed to the right. She collects a random sample of 25 people.

The resulting 95% confidence interval is ($26700, $35400).

Then, valid conclusion will be :  We are 95% confident that the mean income for all residents of this city is between $26700 and $35400.
