Lucia would need 54 green beads and 36 purple beads.

  • Total length of her beaded string = 21.6 centimeters
  • Decided length for green beads = 0.4 centimeters
  • Decided length for purple beads = 0.6 centimeters
<h2>Further Explanation</h2>

To determine the amount of green and purple beads she would use for the whole beaded string, the total length of her beaded string (21.6) would be divided by the amount of colored beads (For green: 0.4; For purple: 0.6) she decided to use for the beaded string separately.

Therefore, 21.6 ÷ 0.4; and 21.6 ÷ 0.6

Hence,

<h3><u>For green beads:</u></h3>

Total length of her beaded string ÷ Decided length for green beads

= 21.6 ÷ 0.4 ( can be expressed as \frac{216}{4})

= \frac{216}{4}

= 54

<h3><u>For purple beads:</u></h3>

Total length of her beaded string ÷ Decided length for purple beads

= 21.6 ÷ 0.6 (can be expressed as \frac{216}{6})

= \frac{216}{6}

= 36

Therefore she would need 54 green beads and 36 purple beads for her beaded string.

The above expression is a number problem, and was solved with the aid of division. Division is a basic arithmetic operation which deals with splitting or dividing two or more numerical values into different equal part.

It is also a function of BODMAS (which is an order of operations). BODMAS basically means Bracket, Orders, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

21.6 ÷ 0.4 = 54 times for green
21.6 ÷ 0.6 = 36 times for purple

Together, 90 beads. Separately, 54 green and 36 purple.

Given: WXYZ is a parallelogram, ZX ≅ WY
Mrrafil [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: WXYZ is a parallelogram, ZX ≅ WY

Prove: WXYZ is a rectangle

Proof:

Step 1. WXYZ is a parallelogram and ZX ≅ WY (Given)

Step 2. ZY ≅ WX (Opposite sides of parallelogram are congruent)

Step 3. YX ≅ YX  (Reflexive Property)

Step 4. Consider △ZYX and △WXY, we have

ZX ≅ WY (Given)

ZY ≅ WX (Opposite sides of parallelogram are congruent)

YX ≅ YX  (Reflexive Property)

Thus, by SSS rule, △ZYX ≅ △WXY

Step 5. By CPCTC, ∠ZYX ≅ ∠WXY

Step 6.  m∠ZYX ≅ m∠WXY (Definition of congruency)

Step 7.  m∠ZYX + m∠WXY = 180° ( consecutive ∠s in a parallelogram are supplementary)

Step 8. m∠ZYX + m∠ZYX = 180° (Substitution)

Step 9. 2(m∠ZYX) = 180° (Simplification)

Step 10.  m∠ZYX = 90° (Dividing property of equality)

Step 11. WXYZ is a rectangle (Rectangle angle theorem)

Hence proved.

Savannah is working two summer jobs, making $12 per hour babysitting and $7 per hour washing cars. Savannah must earn a minimum
postnew [5]

Answer:

The inequality that represents the given situation is 12b + 7w ≥ 55

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us solve the question

∵ Savannah is working two summer jobs

∵ She is making $12 per hour babysitting

∵ The number of hours babysitting is b

→ Multiply 12 by b to find the amount earning from babysitting

∴ She is making 12b dollars from working as a babysitting

∵ She is making $7 per hour washing cars

∵ The number of hours washing cars is w

→ Multiply 7 by w to find the amount earning from washing cars

∴ She is making 7w dollars from working in washing cars

∵ Savannah must earn a minimum of $55 this week

→ minimum means ≥,

∴ The total earning ≥ 55

∵ The total earning is 12b + 7w

→ Use the two expressions of the total earning to write the inequality

∴ 12b + 7w ≥ 55

∴ The inequality that represents the given situation is 12b + 7w ≥ 55
