Stan, Liam, and Louise are competing in a cooking competition. They all used different amounts of flour from a can containing 5

pounds of flour. Stan used 12% of the total flour in the can. Liam used 0.11 of the total flour in the can. Louise used 0.7 pound of the total flour in the can. Who used the greatest amount of flour from the can? Show your work and explain your answer in words.

Stan 12%
Liam 0.11 or 11%
Louise .07 or 7%

500 / 5 = 100
so
12 / 5 = 2.4
11 / 5 = 2.2
7% / 5 = 1.4

these numbers tells the percent for 1 pound, so Stan used the most.

Sorry if wrong but pretty sure it's right.

Compare the functions shown below: f(x) = 4x + 5 g(x) tangent function with y intercept at 0, 2 h(x) = 3 sin(2x + π) − 2 Which f
KATRIN_1 [288]
The y-intercept of the graph of a function is the value of f(0) for any function f.
That is, it is the y-value in the pair (0, y)

The y-intercept of <span>f(x) = 4x + 5 is f(0)=4*0+5=5

The y-intercept of (0, 2) is 2.

The y-intercept of </span>h(x) = 3 sin(2x + π) − 2 is:

h(0) = 3 sin(2*0 + π) − 2=3 sin(π) − 2=3*0-2=-2

<span>Answer: The function f has the greatest y-intercept.

If s(x) = 2 – x2 and t(x) = 3x, which value is equivalent to (s circle t) (negative 7)?
Lisa [10]

Answer:

-439

Step-by-step explanation:

(s circle t) (negative 7) is a notation for a compound function.

A compound function is a function that has as an argument another function.

Another notation for this compound function is s(t(-7)), that is, the result of the function t(-7) is the value that will be used in the function s(x).

So, first we calculate the value of t(-7):

t(x) = 3x

t(-7) = 3*(-7) = -21

Now, we apply this value for s(x):

s(x) = 2 - x2

s(t(-7)) = s(-21) = 2 - (-21)^2 = 2 - 441 = -439

Jackie bought a 3-pack of tubes of glue. She used 0.27 ounce of the glue from the 3-pack
adell [148]

This question is not correct because one of its options was not written correctly.

Correct question:

Jackie bought a 3-pack of tubes of glue. She used 0.27 ounce of the glue from the 3-pack

and had 1.35 ounces left in total. Which describes a way to determine the number of ounces

sold in each tube of glue?

a) Solve for x in the equation 3x - 0.27 = 1.35.

b) Divide 1.35 by 3 and then subtract 0.27 from the quotient.

c) Subtract 0.27 from 1.35 and the divide the difference by 3.

d) Solve for w in the equation 3 (x - 0.27) = 1.35.

Answer:

a) Solve for x in the equation 3x - 0.27 = 1.35.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that 0.27 ounces of glue was sold from a 3 pack glue and we have 1.35 ounces of glue left in total.

The first step would be represent the 3 pack of glue as 3x where x represents each pack of the glue.

Therefore, mathematically, we have the Algebraic equation:

3x - 0.27 = 1.35..... Equation 1

This is because when we solve for x, we would be able to find the number of ounces sold in each tube.

Solving for x in the equation 3x - 0.27 = 1.35.

3x - 0.27 = 1.35.

3x = 1.35 + 0.27

3x = 1.62 ...... Equation 2

3x = The three pack tube containing the glue.

Where x represents each of the tubes.

This means, the three pack tube contained 1.62 ounces of glue.

To find out he amount of glue sold from each pack, we go back to our equation 2

3x = 1.62

x = 1.62 ÷ 3

x = 0.54 ounces.

This means from each tubes, 0.54 ounces of glue was sold.

Therefore, Option a) "Solve for x in the equation 3x - 0.27 = 1.35" is correct.

a direct variation function contains the points ( -8, -6 ) and (12,9 ) . Which equation represents the function ?
9966 [12]

Answer:

y = \frac{3}{4} x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the quantities vary directly then the equation relating them is

y = kx ← k is the constant of variation

To find k use either of the 2 given points

Using (12, 9), that is x = 12 when y = 9, then

k = \frac{y}{x} = \frac{9}{12} = \frac{3}{4}

y = \frac{3}{4} x ← equation of variation
