Let x represent the number of 12 packs
Let y represent the number of 6 packs
12x+6y=120
Rearrange for x
12x=120-6y
X=10-1/2y
Rearrange for y
6y=120-12x
Y=20-2x
Hope this helps!

Answer:

(a) 12x + 6y = 120

(b) x = 10- \frac{y}{2}

(c) y = 20- 2x

Step-by-step explanation:

Andrew needs exactly 120 pencils.

The supply closet have boxes of pencils with 12 in each and boxes of markers with 6 in each .

Let x be the number of pencil boxes

and y be the number of marker boxes

12(pencil boxes) + 6(marker boxes) = 120

So equation becomes

12x + 6y  = 120

(b)Now solve the equation for x

12x + 6y  = 120

Subtract 6y on both sides

12x = 120 - 6y

Divide both sides by 12

x =  \frac{120}{12} - \frac{6y}{12}

x = 10- \frac{y}{2}

(c)Now solve the equation for x

12x + 6y  = 120

Subtract 12x on both sides

6y = 120 - 12x

Divide both sides by 6

y =  \frac{120}{6} - \frac{12x}{6}

y = 20- 2x

Compute the requested value. Choose the correct answer.
Fiesta28 [93]

Original price of the item = $14.95

Price after discount = $13.79

Discount offered = original price - price after discount = 14.95- 13.79 = $1.16

Now let us find the percentage of discount offered.

Percentage discount is given by the formula:

Percentage discount = \frac{MP-SP}{MP}*100

Where MP= Marked price= original price

SP= selling price= price after discount

Percentage discount = \frac{1.16}{14.95}*100

Percentage discount = 7.759 %

Roger and rita each drive at a constant speed between phoenix and san diego. Each driver’s distance for the same section of the
never [62]

Answer:

a)Rita had a 28-mile head start

Step-by-step explanation:

The multiple options have been added in the additional information below the problem statement.

<u>Missing Information:</u>

Since the distance of each driver is not displayed. Let us assume their distances.

Say,

Roger travelled distance = 60 miles

Rita travelled distance = 32 miles

Now as it is given in the problem statement that Roger and Rita both drove at a constant speed between Phoenix and San Diego and they drove "Same Section of the trip" .

Which Means that the distance travelled of both is between Phoenix and San Diego, just their starting points are different but their end point is the same which is San Diego.

<em><u>As we can see RIta had to cover less miles which means she got the head start, now to calculate how much of a head start she got, we need:</u></em>

Head Start Rita got = Distance Roger travelled - Distance Rita Travelled

Head Start Rita got = 60 - 32 = 28 miles

So,

Rita got a Head start of 28 miles which is option (a)
