Answer:

50 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

The maximum weight of the luggage a passenger can bring without charge is 50 pounds.

Mary Ellen has decided to weigh each item as she packs her bag.

weight of Suitcase = 3.65 lbs

weight of clothing = 4.35 lbs

weight of shoes = 8.67 lbs

weight of toiletries = 11.35 lbs

weight of extras = 21.63 lbs

Now we will add the weights of each items

Total weight = 3.65 + 4.35 + 8.67 + 11.35 + 21.63 = 49.65

Rounding to the nearest to the one pound will be = 50 lbs

(Since 0.65 is greater than 0.5 so by rounding off 0.65 will become 1.)

Therefore the estimated weight is 50 pounds.

Explain how knowing 1+7 helps you find the sum for7+1
ss7ja [257]
1+7 and 7+1 are the same equations. The numbers are just switched around .
Example:
1+2=3
2+1+3

They add up to the same answer no matter where they are placed, therefore knowing 1+7 helps you find the sum of 7+1 (again, because they are the same)

Another path in the community is 2.1 miles long. It has benches at 1/3 And 2/3 of the distance from beginning to end of the path
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

bench at 1/3 is at 0.7 miles

bench at 2/3 is at 1.4 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Path length, x= 2.1 miles

It has benches at 1/3 And 2/3 of the distance from beginning to end of the path

1/3 of the distance from beginning to end of the path= 1/3x

Putting value of x in above we get:

                  =1/3(2.1)

                  =2.1/3

                  =0.7

The bench at 1/3 of the distance is at 0.7 miles from the beginning to end of path

2/3 of the distance from beginning to end of the path= 2/3x

Putting value of x in above we get:

                  =2(2.1)/3

                  =4.2/3

                  =1.4

The bench at 2/3 of the distance is at 1.4 miles from the beginning to end of path!

Suppose the board game cost $25 before tax.

If the tax payable was $1.54, then the sales tax rate was r:
                                                     $1.54
$25r = $1.54. Solving for r, r = ---------- = 0.0616, or 6.16%
