A charity organization had a fundraiser where each ticket was sold for a fixed price of \$70$70dollar sign, 70. They had to sell

a few tickets just to cover necessary production costs. After selling 101010 tickets, they were still at a net loss of \$800$800dollar sign, 800 (due to the production costs). Let P(n)P(n)P, left parenthesis, n, right parenthesis denote the net profit from the fundraiser PPP (measured in dollars) as a function of the number of tickets sold nnn. Write the function's formula.

Price of each ticket = $70
The revenue generated from sales of 10 tickets = 70 x 10 = $700

After selling the 10 tickets, organization was still at loss of $800. This means total product cost of tickets = $800 + $700 = $ 1500

Net Profit = Revenue - Cost

Revenue from n tickets will be = 70n
Cost = $1500

So, net profit as a function of number of tickets sold = P(n) = 70n - 1500

What is 7.86 x 10 to the negative 2nd power kL in dL?
ELEN [110]
So a kiloliter (kL) is 1000 liters, while a deciliter (dL) is 0.1 liters.

You have 0.0786kL, or 78.6L.

78.6L is equal to 786dL.

A skateboarder starts from rest and maintains a constant forward acceleration of 0.50 meter per second squared for 8.4 s. what i
myrzilka [38]

Answer-

The rider’s displacement during this time is 17.01 m

Solution-

As we know,

s= ut + \frac{1}{2}at^{2}

Where s = displacement,

           u= initial velocity = 0, as the rider starts from rest

           a= acceleration = 0.5 m/s²

           t= time taken = 8.4 s

Putting the values,

s = (0)(8.4) + \frac{1}{2} (0.5)(8.4)^{2} = 17.64 \ m

Write the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y=-7/4x-2 through the point (4,2)! Help please
Sladkaya [172]

as you already know, the equation y=-7/4x-2, is already in slope-intercept form and thus its slope is the coefficient of the "x", namely -7/4.

parallel lines have the same exact slope, so a parallel line to this one will also have a slope of -7/4, and it passes through 4,2,

\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{4}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{2})\qquad \qquad \qquad  slope =  m\implies -\cfrac{7}{4} \\\\\\ \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y- y_1= m(x- x_1)}\implies y-2=-\cfrac{7}{4}(x-4) \\\\\\ y-2=-\cfrac{7}{4}x+7\implies y=-\cfrac{7}{4}x+9

Mrs. Fox, the art teacher at Eastside Elementary school, has an empty space on her wall 6 ft.* 3 1/3 ft. She was given some whit
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

<u>1. The space Mrs. Fox wants to fill is bigger than the space needed to hang 175 tiles , therefore it will be enough room in the designed space.</u>

<u>2. The area of the space Mrs. Fox wants to fill is 20 ft².</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review the information given to us to answer the question correctly:

Empty space Mrs. Fox has on her wall = 6 ft. * 3 1/3 ft.

White tiles measures Mrs. Fox was given = 1/3 ft. * 1/3 ft.

2. She wants her 175 fifth grade students to each design and paint a tile to be hung in the empty space on the wall. Will there be enough room in the designed space to hang all 175 tiles?  What is the area of the space Mrs. Fox wants to fill? Justify your answer with words, diagrams, or an equation for both questions.

Let's recall the formula for the area of a rectangle:

Area = Length * Width

Area = 6 ft * 3 1/3 ft.

Area = 6 * 3.33 = 20 ft²

<u>The area of the space Mrs. Fox wants to fill is 20 ft²</u>

Now, let's find the area of each white tile and let's multiply that value 175 times, as follows:

Area of a white tile = 1/3 * 1/3

Area of a white tile = 0.33 * 0.33 = 0.1089 ft²

Area of 175 tiles = 0.1089 * 175 = 19.06 ft² (rounding to two decimal places)

<u>20 ft² > 19.06 ft² or the space Mrs. Fox wants to fill is bigger than the space needed to hang 175 tiles , therefore it will be enough room in the designed space.</u>
