A charity organization had a fundraiser where each ticket was sold for a fixed price of \$70$70dollar sign, 70. They had to sell

a few tickets just to cover necessary production costs. After selling 101010 tickets, they were still at a net loss of \$800$800dollar sign, 800 (due to the production costs). Let P(n)P(n)P, left parenthesis, n, right parenthesis denote the net profit from the fundraiser PPP (measured in dollars) as a function of the number of tickets sold nnn. Write the function's formula.

Price of each ticket = $70
The revenue generated from sales of 10 tickets = 70 x 10 = $700

After selling the 10 tickets, organization was still at loss of $800. This means total product cost of tickets = $800 + $700 = $ 1500

Net Profit = Revenue - Cost

Revenue from n tickets will be = 70n
Cost = $1500

So, net profit as a function of number of tickets sold = P(n) = 70n - 1500

If f(x)=sinx−1/cos2x, then limx→π2f(x) is equivalent to which of the following?
Harrizon [31]

Answer:

2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given g(x) = sin(x)-1/cos2(x), we are to find the limit if the function g(x) as g(x) tends to π/2

Substituting π/2 into the function

lim x-->π/2 sin(x)-1/cos 2(x)

= sin(π/2) - 1/cos(2)(π/2)

= 1 - 1/cosπ

= 1- 1/-1

= 1 -(-1)

= 1+1

= 2

Hence the limit of the function h(x) = sin(x)-1/cos2(x) as x--> π/2 is 2

W hich of these scales is equivalent to the scale 1 cm to 5 km? Select all that apply.  (Lesson 1-11) A. 3 cm to 15 km D.    5 m
nordsb [41]

The equivalent scales are:

3 cm to 15 km is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km ⇒ answer A

5 mm to 2.5 km is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km ⇒ answer D

1 mm to 500 m is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km ⇒ answer E

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this problem do that

1. The given scale is 1 cm represents 5 km, then all given answer must

be change to cm and km

2. Find the equivalent scales to the given scale

A.

∵ 3 cm represents 15 km

- Divide both of them by 3

∴ 1 cm represents 5 km

3 cm to 15 km is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km

B.

∵ 1 mm represents 150 km

- Change mm to cm

∵ 1 cm = 10 mm

∴ 1 mm = \frac{1}{10} cm = 0.1 cm

∴ 0.1 cm represents 150 km

- Multiply both by 10

∴ 1 cm represents 1500 km

1 mm to 150 km is not equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km

C.

∵ 5 cm represents 1 km

- Divide both my 5

∴ 1 cm represents 0.2 km

5 cm to 1 km is not equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km

D.

∵ 5 mm represents 2.5 km

- Change mm to cm

∵ 1 cm = 10 mm

∴ 5 mm = \frac{5}{10} cm = 0.5 cm

∴ 0.5 cm represents 2.5 km

- Divide both by 0.5

∴ 1 cm represents 5 km

5 mm to 2.5 km is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km

E.

∵ 1 mm represents 500 m

- Change mm to cm

∵ 1 cm = 10 mm

∴ 1 mm = \frac{1}{10} cm = 0.1 cm

- Change m to km

∵ 1 km = 1000 m

∴ 1 m = \frac{1}{1000} = 0.001 km

∴ 500 m = \frac{500}{1000} = 0.5 km

∴ 0.1 cm represents 0.5 km

- Multiply both by 10

∴ 1 cm represents 5 km

1 mm to 500 m is equivalent to 1 cm to 5 km

MODELING REAL LIFE In 60 seconds, a car in a parade travels 0.2 mile. The car traveled the last 0.05 mile in 12 seconds. How lon
schepotkina [342]
Well, if we put everything together we have gone .25 of a mile in 72 seconds.

Since .25 is a quarter of a mile (1/4) we can estimate that in 288 seconds the car has traveled one mile. We got 288 by multiplying .25 by 4.

Sam has $1,000 to be distributed among two groups equally. Later the first part is divided among five children and second part i
katrin2010 [14]

Let x be the money distributed to the first group and y be the money distributed to the second group.

Then, x + y = 1000

Let c be the money distributed to one child in the first group and b be the money distributed to one brother in the second group.

Then, x = 5c and y = 2b

Hence 5c + 2b = 1000.
