Ms. Walker's class set up an online fund with a goal to raise $1,280 to go on a field trip. Ms. Walker starts the fund by deposi

Answer: y=5(2)^x

It will take 8 weeks to reach the class goal.

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the exponential growth equation is given by :-

y=Ab^x     (1)

, where A = initial amount.

b = Multiplicative rate of change.

x= Time period.

Given : Ms. Walker starts the fund by depositing $5.

⇒ A = $5

Each week the balance of the fund is twice the balance of the previous week.

⇒ b= 2

For x= number of weeks, substitute the value of A and b in (1), we get

y=5(2)^x

The equation to the number of weeks, x, after which the balance of the fund will reach $1,280 will be :-

1280=5(2)^x   [Put y= 1280]

\Rightarrow\ (2)^x=\dfrac{1280}{5}=256

\Rightarrow\ 2^x=2^8              [∵ 2^8=256]

\Rightarrow\ x=8   [∵ is a^m=a^n \Rightarrow m=n]

Hence, it will take 8 weeks to reach the class goal.

What you can use for this case is a function of the potential type.
 We have then
 y = a (b) ^ x
 Where we have:
 Walker starts the fund by depositing $ 5
 a = 5
 Each week the balance of the fund is twice the balance of the previous week:
 b = 2
 The function is:
 y = 5 (2) ^ x
 The number of weeks to reach $ 1280 is 8 weeks.
 Check:
 y = 5 (2) ^ 8
 y = 1280
 Answer:
 An equation can be used to find the number of weeks, x, after which the balance of the fund will reach $ 1,280 is:
 y = 5 (2) ^ x
 The number of weeks that it takes to reach the class goal is
 8 weeks

Aneli [31]

Answer:

Thus, option “c” 10% is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

The percentage of students that like dubstep = 30%

The percentage of students that like trance music = 25%

The percentage of student that wants only house music = 20%

The percentage of students that like bot dubstep and trance = 15%

Now we have to find the percentage of students that like trance music but nor dubstep.

The percentage of students that like the trance music but nor dubstep = 100% - 30% – 25 % - 20% - 15%

The percentage of students that like trance music but nor dubstep = 10%

Thus, option “c” 10% is correct.

tangare [24]

Answer:

a.

\bar p_1=0.05\\\bar p_2=0.067

b-Check illustration  below

c.(-0.0517,0.0177

Step-by-step explanation:

a.let p_1  \& p_2 denote processes 1 & 2.

For p_1: T1=10,n1=200

For p_2:T2=20,n2=300

Therefore

\bar p_1=\frac{t_1}{N_1}=\frac{10}{200}=0.05\\\bar p_2=\frac{t_2}{N_2}=\frac{20}{300}=0.067

b. To test for hypothesis:-

i.

H_0:p_1=p_2\\H_A=p_1\neq p_2\\\alpha=0.05

ii.For a two sample Proportion test

Z=\frac{\bar p_1-\bar p_2}{\sqrt(\bar p(1-\bar p)(\frac{1}{n_1}+\frac{1}{n_2})}\\

iii. for \frac{\alpha}{2}=(-1.96,+1.96) (0.5 alpha IS 0.025),

reject H_o if|Z|>1.96

iv. Do not reject H_o. The noncomforting proportions are not significantly different as calculated below:

z=\frac{0.050-0.067}{\sqrt {(0.06\times0.94)\times \frac{1}{500}}}

z=-0.78

c.(1-\alpha).100\% for the p1-p2 is given as:

(\bar p_1-\bar p_2)\pm Z_0_._5_\alpha \times \sqrt   \frac{ \bar p_1(1-\bar p_1)}{n_1}+\frac{\bar p_2(1-\bar p_2)}{n_2}\\\\=(0.05-0.067)\pm 1.645  \times \sqrt \ \frac{0.05+0.95}{200}+\frac{0.067+0.933}{300}\\

=(-0.0517,+0.0177)

*CI contains o, which implies that proportions are NOT significantly different.

The average age of doctors in a certain hospital is 45.0 years old. Suppose the distribution of ages is normal and has a standar
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer: 0.7619

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Mean : \mu=45.0

Standard deviation : \sigma =8.0

Sample size : n=9

We assume that the variable is normally distributed.

The value of z-score is given by :-

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

a) For x= 46.9 years

z=\dfrac{46.9-45.0}{\dfrac{8}{\sqrt{9}}}=0.7125

The p-value : P(z

Hence, the  probability that the average age of those doctors is less than 46.9 years =0.7619
