This one odd cereal box. We are asked to find the volume of the "box". This can be answered in 2 parts. The total volume is the sum of the rectangular prism volume and the volume of the cylinder. The volume of the rectangular prism is 8x4x10 = 320 cm^3. Then the volume of the cylinder is \pi r^{2} h = V. The volume of the cylinder is then 125.66. The total volume is then 445.66 ml (Note: ml = cm^3). Then V = 0.45L

What is the value of x in the equation 1.5(x + 4) – 3 = 4.5(x – 2)? 3 4 5 9
Arisa [49]

1.5(x + 4) - 3 = 3.5(x - 2)

We need to use the distributive property to simplify this.

1.5x + 6 - 3 = 3.5x - 7

<em><u>Subtract 1.5x from both sides</u></em>

6 - 3 = 2x - 7

<em><u>Simplify left side</u></em>

3 = 2x - 7

<em><u>Add 7 to both sides</u></em>

10 = 2x

<em><u>Divide both sides by 2</u></em>

x = 5

Exercise 6.22 provides data on sleep deprivation rates of Californians and Oregonians. The proportion of California residents wh
kherson [118]

Answer:

a. The alternative hypothesis H₀: p'₁ ≠ p'₂ is accepted

b. Type I error

Step-by-step explanation:

Proportion of California residents who reported insufficient rest = 8.0%

Proportion of Oregon  residents who reported insufficient rest = 8.8%

p'₁ = 0.08 * 11545 =923.6

p'₂ = 0.088 * 4691=412.81

σ₁ = \sqrt{n*p_1*q_1}  = \sqrt{n*p_1*(1-p_1)} = \sqrt{11545*0.08*(1-0.08)} = 29.15

σ₂ = \sqrt{n*p_2*q_2}  = \sqrt{n*p_2*(1-p_2)}= \sqrt{4691*0.088*(1-0.088)} = 19.40

Samples size of California residents n₁ = 11,545

Samples size of Oregon residents n₂ = 4,691

Hypothesis can be constructed thus

Let our null hypothesis be H ₀: p'₁ = p'₂

and alternative hypothesis H ₐ: p'₁ ≠ p'₂

Then we have

z =\frac{(p'_1 -p'_2)-(\mu_1-\mu_2)}{\sqrt{\frac{\sigma^2_1}{n_1}+\frac{\sigma^2_2}{n_2} } }

The test statistics can be computed by

t₀ = \sqrt{\frac{n_1n_2(n_1+n_2-2)}{n_1+n_2} } *\frac{p_1'-p_2'}{\sqrt{(n_1-1)\sigma_1^2+(n_2-1)\sigma_2^2} } =      1104.83

c from tables is   P(T ≤ c) = 1 - α where α = 5% and c = 1.65

since t₀ ≥ c then then the hypothesis is rejected which means the alternative hypothesis is rejected

b. Type I error, rejecting a true hypothesis

help please !!!Kevin wants to make a mixture that is 50% lemon juice and 50% lime juice. How much 100% lemon juice should he add
Liula [17]
So basically, he wants to make mixture where lemon=lime

it is 6 gallons so
40% of 6=0.4 times 60=2.4=lemon
60% of 6=0.6 times 60=3.6=lime
so to make them equal
3.6-2.4=1.2
he must add 1.2 gallons of 100% lemon juice to make a mixture of 50% lemon and 50% lime

1.2 gallons is the answer

a new coffee shop can hold no more than 50 seats the owner wants at least 20 of the seats to be stools and the remaining seats t
Snezhnost [94]

Attached

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question x is the number of stools and y is the number of recliners

Given that the coffee shop can hold no more than 50, then the inequality for number of seats will be;

x+y≤ 50

Also, the owner wants at least 20 of the seats to be stools, this can be written as;

x≥20

Using a graph tool to visualize the inequalities, you get the attached graph;
