Answer:

y= 120+20x

y=30x

When jamie and owen walk for same minutes then: 120+20x=30x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Jamie has already walked 120 minutes and plans to walk 20 minutes per day. Owen plans to walk 30 minutes per day.

To Find: . which system of equations can be used to find the number of days it will take for owen and jamie to have walked the same number of minutes

Solution :

Let x represent the number of days and y represent the total number of minutes walked during the challenge.

Since Jamie plans to walk 20 minutes per day

So, Jamie walked for x days =20 x minutes

Jamie already walked for 120 minutes

So total minutes for which jamie walked :

y= 120+20x ---(a)

Since Owen plans to walk 30 minutes per day

Owen walk for minutes in x days = 30x

So, y=30x ---(b)

Now when jamie and owen walk for same minutes then:

120+20x=30x

⇒120=10x

⇒x=12

Thus jamie walked for minutes = 120 +20*12 =360

Own walked for minutes = 30*12 =360

Y=20x+120
y=30x

30x=20x+120
30x-20x=120
10x=120
x=12 days

y=30x
y=30(12)
y=360 minutes

How does the area of triangle RST compare to the area of triangle LMN? The area of △RST is 2 square units less than the area of
sashaice [31]
Inscribe triangle RST in the square with dimensions 4×4, as shown in the figure.

from the area of this square, 4*4=16, we remove the triangles with dimensions
3×4, 2×1 and 2×4, whose side lengths are shown in the figure, and we are left with the area of triangle RST.

so Area(RTS)=16- \frac{1}{2}*3*4-  \frac{1}{2}*2*1-  \frac{1}{2}*2*4=16-6-1-4=5 units squared

similarly,

Area(LMN)=4*3- \frac{1}{2}*1*4- \frac{1}{2}*2*2- \frac{1}{2}*2*3=12-2-2-3=5 units squared

Thus, the areas are equal.

Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

The numbers of doors that will have no blemishes will be about 6065 doors

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of counts by the  worker of each blemishes on the door be (X)

The distribution of blemishes followed the Poisson distribution with parameter  \lambda =0.5 / door

The probability mass function on of a poisson distribution Is:

P(X=x) = \dfrac{e^{- \lambda } \lambda ^x}{x!}

P(X=x) = \dfrac{e^{- \ 0.5 }( 0.5)^ x}{x!}

The probability that no blemishes occur is :

P(X=0) = \dfrac{e^{- \ 0.5 }( 0.5)^ 0}{0!}

P(X=0) = 0.60653

P(X=0) = 0.6065

Assume the number of paints on the door by q = 10000

Hence; the number of doors that have no blemishes  is = qp

=10,000(0.6065)

= 6065
