We will use Ideal gas equation. PV=nRT where P= pressure(in atm)=5.82atm V=Volume=? n= moles of gases=0.682 R = gas constant= 0.0821L atm / mol K T = temperature= 68.2 C= 68.2 + 273.15 = 341.35 K V= nRT/ P= 0.682 X 0.0821 X 341.35/ 5.82 V= 3.284 L.

Which best describes the motion of pentane molecules in liquid phase?
Ganezh [65]
Hydrocarbons may vary from state to state depending on the length of the carbon chain. For methane to butane, they are usually in gas form. Starting from pentane, they are in the liquid form. For very long carbon chains, that occur as solids. Now, it depends if the pentane is in a nonpolar liquid or polar liquid. Since pentane is nonpolar, it is miscible in the liquid solvent. The movements would most likely be free flowing. But if he solvent is polar, the molecules would repel with one another. In the end, it will form two liquid phases, on for the pentane and one for the polar solvent.

A sample of sodium reacts completely with 0.355 kg of chlorine, forming 585 g of sodium chloride. What mass of sodium reacted?
Kay [80]

Answer:

The mass of sodium that reacted is 230 grams

Explanation:

The balance equation of the reaction is first written .

sodium = Na

Chlorine = Cl2

sodium chloride = NaCl

2Na + Cl2 → 2NaCl

from the balance equation we calculate the molar mass involve in the reaction

Molar mass of sodium from the equation = 23(2) = 46 g

molar mass of sodium chloride from the eqaution = 23 × 2 + 35.5 × 2 = 46 + 71 = 117 g

If 46g of sodium is in 117 g of sodium chloride

? gram will be in 585 g of sodium chloride

cross multiply

46 × 585/117 = 26910/117  = 230 g

The mass of sodium that reacted is 230 grams

. Divide 94.20 g by 3.167 22 mL.
jeka94
94.20 g/3.16722 mL = 29.74 g/mL

The ratio of mass to volume is equal to the substance's density. Thus, 29.74 g/mL is the density of whatever substance it may be. Density does not change for incompressible matter like solid and some liquids. Although, it may be temperature dependent.
