There are 9C_3 ways to select 3 from 9.

There are 5C_3 ways to select 3 men from 5 men and 4C_3 ways to select 3 women from 4 women.

If all three selected are men, then no woman was selected, and we have

5C_3 \times 4C_0 ways we can do that.

1)

P(All -3 -are -men)=[tex]\frac{5C_3 \times 4C_0}{9C_3}=\frac{5}{42}

2) If all 3 are women then no man was selected, and we have

5C_0 \times 4C_3 ways we can do that.

P(All- 3- are- women)=\frac{5C_0 \times 4C_3}{9C_3}=\frac{1}{21}

3) If 2 men and 1 woman were selected, the we have 5C_2\times 4C_1 ways we can do that.

P(2 -men -1 -woman)=\frac{5C_2\times 4C_1}{9C_3}=\frac{10}{21}

4) If 2 women and 1 man is selected, then we have  5C_1 \times 4C_2

P(2- women- 1 -man)=\frac{5C_1\times 4C_2}{9C_3}=\frac{5}{14}

Answer:

We have that 5 are man and 4 are woman.

1) the probabilty of selecting a man at random is equal to the number of men divided by the total number of aplicants, this would be:

p1 = 5/9 for the first one.

now, for the second, the number of men is 4, and the number of aplicants is 8 (because we already tooked one)

p2 = 4/8

and for the third one we have:

p3 = 3/7

then the total probability is p1*p2*p3 = (5*4*3)/(9*8*7) = 0.119

2) now, if all are woman we have the same thinking:

p1 = 4/9

p2 = 3/8

p3 = 2/7

P = p1*p2*p3 = (4*3*2)/(9*8*7) = 0.048

2) now we have two men and one woman.

if the selection is: man-man-woman.

p1 = 5/9

p2 = 4/8

p3 = 4/7

P1 = p1*p2*p3 = 0.159

Now, we also have the case where the selection is man-woman-man

p1 =5/9

p2 = 4/8

p3 = 4/7

P2 = p1*p2*p3 = 0.159

and the case where the selection is woman-man-man

p1 = 4/9

p2 = 5/8

p3 = 4/7

P3 = p1*p2*p3 = 0.159

you can see that the probabilitys are the same in every disposition, then the total probability here is P1 + P2 + P3 = 3*0.159 = 0.477

4) now the case where we have two women and one man, now we know that the order does not matter, so we suppose that the selection is woman-woman-man

p1 = 4/9

p2 = 3/8

p3 = 5/7

P1 = 0.119

and we have 3 permutations, so the total probability is:

P = 3*P1 = 0.357

Nana76 [90]

Answer:

Her brother catch her at 11 am + 4hour = 15 p.m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as ;

Speed of Ariel = 45 mph

She left home at 9 a.m

Her brother speed = 60 mph

Her brother left home at 11 a.m

Now from question So As Ariel speed is 45 mph so, after two hours pass , she ahead 90 m .

As her brother travel as 60 mph ,so he travel at ( 60 - 45 )= 15 mph faster

So, with this speed her brother will catch up her at \frac{90}{15} = after 4 hour .

Hence her brother catch her at 11 am + 4hour = 15 p.m  Answer

Roman55 [17]
If you would like to know the price Jay can pay the manufacturer for the blow up bed, you can calculate this using the following steps:

100% + 40% = 140%

140% of x is $299
140% * x = 299
140/100 * x = 299      /*100/140
x = 299 * 100 / 140
x = $213.6

40% of $213.6 = 40% * 213.6 = 40/100 * 213.6 = 85.44
$213.6 + $85.44 = $299

The correct result would be $213.6.

Sharon is 54 inches tall. tree in her backyard is five times as tall as she is. the floor of her treehouse is at a height that i
mafiozo [28]
First to solve this problem you are going to figure out how tall the tree is. So if Sharon is 54 inches and the tree 5 times the height she is you would do 54*5= 270. Next you go to find out how tall the floor of her tree house is. It says the floor is twice the height of her so you would do 54*2=108. Then the problem asks the difference between the top of the tree and the floor of the tree house. So 270-108=162. I hope this helped. :) Brainliest answer?

PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

$95.77

Step-by-step explanation:

We are told that Tim wants to purchase a watch for $98.99.

He has a coupon that will discount the watch by 10%. So price of watch after using coupon will be,

\text{Price of watch after discount}=98.99-(98.99*\frac{10}{100})

\text{Price of watch after discount}=98.99-(98.99*0.10)

\text{Price of watch after discount}=98.99-9.899=89.091

Now let us find the price of watch after sales tax of 7.5%.

\text{Price of watch after sales tax}=89.091+(89.091*\frac{7.5}{100})

\text{Price of watch after sales tax}=89.091+(89.091*0.075)

\text{Price of watch after sales tax}=89.091+6.681825

\text{Price of watch after sales tax}=95.772825\approx 95.77

Therefore, Tim will pay $95.77 at the register.
