Answer:

Vascular cambium is not present in monocots.

Explanation:

Vascular cambium is the tissue responsible for secondary growth. It leads to development of secondary vascular tissues during secondary growth. Secondary growth and presence of vascular cambium is a feature of dicotyledonous plants only. Since corn is a monocotyledous plant, it does not have vascular cambium.

Vascular cambium is a the tissue which is present in between the xylem and phloem. Te cells of vascular cambium divide to form secondary vascular structure, which is not a feature of the monocots like corn. Secondary vascular structures are true to dicots and do not carry water or minerals, rather increase thickness of the plant.

Anna11 [10]
Since alkylating agents work to prevent the cell from replicating its genetic material, the cell would most likely stop at the interphase checkpoint, which is the phase before mitosis (which consists of prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase). During interphase, the cell replicates its genetic material (DNA), but this would be prohibited by alkylating agents.

*The key function of each of the two photosystems is to absorb light and convert the energy of the absorbed light into redox energy, which drives electron transport.

In PS II (the first photosystem in the sequence), P680 is oxidized (which in turn oxidizes water), and the PS II primary electron acceptor is reduced (which in turn reduces the electron transport chain between the photosystems).

In PS I, the PS I primary electron acceptor is reduced (which in turn reduces other compounds that ultimately reduce NADP+ to NADPH), and P700 is oxidized (which in turn oxidizes the electron transport chain between the photosystems).
