Answer: 3/20 of the class

Step-by-step explanation:

Add the amount of students that play soccer to amount of students that play volleyball

1/4 + 3/5 = 17/20

Subtract 17/20 (soccer and volley ball) from 20/20 or 1

20/20 - 17/20 = 3/20

Answer:

Mia's method have one advantage that the steps became less than Jenna's method.

Step-by-step explanation:

Jenna’s method :

5(30 + 4)

=(5)(30) + (5)(4)

=150 + 20

=170

Mia’s method :

5(30 + 4)

=(5)(34)

=170

To find : Explain why both Jenna and Mia arrived at the same answer and the advantage of one method over the other ?

Solution :

The method of both were different but correct.

One apply distributive property and other apply direct calculation.

So, both Jenna and Mia arrived at the same answer

But Mia's method have one advantage that the steps became less than Jenna's method.

makvit [3.9K]
Well, if you take x to be 25 seconds, there are 2.4x in 1min. So, that multiplied by 60, would be 144x. Therefore, 1/4 multiplied by 144x should be the answer.

Legalization of marijuana, Part I. The 2010 General Social Survey asked 1,578 US res- idents: \Do you think the use of marijuana
mixer [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Sample statistics are used to estimate population value. Since 48% is a sample proportion, therefore, it is a sample statistic.

b) For 95% confidence level, z* = 1.96.

\hat{p}\pm z^* \sqrt{\frac{\hat{p}(1-\hat{p})}{n}}= 0.61\pm 0.61\sqrt{\frac{0.61(1-0.61)}{1578}}=0.61\pm 0.024 \ or (0.586, 0.634).

We are 95% confident that the true proportion of US residents who think marijuana should be made legal lies between 58.6% and 63.4%.

c)

\\np=1578(0.61)=962.58

\\n(1-p)=1578(1-0.61)=615.42

Since both np and n(1-p), are at least 10, the normal model is a good approximation for these data.

d) As the lower limit of confidence interval is less than 0.5, less than 50% population is also a plausible value of true proportion. This means the statement "Majority of Americans think marijuana should be legalized" is not justified.

8. Peter and his partner are conducting a physics experiment on pendulum motion. Their 30-cm
katrin2010 [14]

Answer: 90/pi degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

It forms a 15cm arc from a circle of radius 30 cm.

The diameter is 30*2*pi = 60pi cm. So the arc is 15/60pi = 1/4pi of the way around a 360 degree circle. This is 1/4pi * 360 = 90/pi degrees.

Hope that helped,
