The finance team of an organization has prepared an end of quarter balance sheet. The stockholders equity amount is a negative value. What must be true in this situation? D. The organizations liabilities are greater than the assets. Stockholders equity is also known to many as shareholders equity. This is listed on the companies balance sheet and includes the total assets and the total liabilities subtracted then equals stockholder's equity. Since you subtract the liabilties from the assets, if there is a negative value then the liabilities are greater than the assets.

Suppose that a delivery company currently uses one employee per vehicle to deliver packages. Each driver delivers 60 packages pe
lisabon 2012 [21]

Answer:

a. What is the MRP per driver per day?

 • the marginal revenue product per driver = 60 packages x $20 = $1,200 per day

b. Now suppose that a union forces the company to place a supervisor in each vehicle at a cost of $300 per supervisor per day. The presence of the supervisor causes the number of packages delivered per vehicle per day to rise to 60 packages per day What is the MRP per supervisor per day? By how much per vehicle per day do firm profits fall after supervisors are introduced?

 • if the drivers were already delivering 60 packages per day without the supervisor, then the addition of the supervisor doesn't change anything. So the MRP of the supervisor is $0. That means that the company's profits will decrease by $300 per day due to the supervisors.

c. How many packages per day would each vehicle have to deliver in order to maintain the firm's profit per vehicle after supervisors are introduced?

 • $300 / 20 = 15 packages per day
 • in order to maintain the profit per vehicle, each team of delivery man + supervisor should be able to deliver 75 packages per day.

d. Suppose that the number of packages delivered per day cannot be increased but that the price per deliver might potentially be raised. What price would the firm have to charge for each delivery in order to maintain the firm's profit per vehicle after supervisors are introduced?

 • $300 / 60 = $5
 • the price of each package delivered should increase by $5 to $25 per package.

The owner of an interior lot has received notice that the city intends to place a sidewalk across his property. The lot measures
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

The amount that he will be charged in a special assessment tax to cover his cost of the sidewalk Is $2000

Explanation:

We are told that the property is an interior lot, so we'll only consider one of the width of his plot, since the sidewalk can only pass through the front or the back of his property.

The property measures 100' x 500' , that is 100 ft width by 500 ft length

The cost of the sidewalk is $40 per linear ft

The city will pick up 50% of the cost.

For a width of the lot, the cost per linear length will be

100 x $40 = $4000

The city covers 50% of this cost, leaving 50% of the cost to the homeowner.

The homeowner's cost will be 50% of $4000

= 0.5 x $4000 = $2000

The amount that he will be charged in a special assessment tax to cover his cost of the sidewalk Is $2000

Suppose a competitive firm has cost, C = (0.002q3) + (22q) + 750, marginal cost, MC = 0.006q2 + 22, and revenue, R =
aniked [119]

Answer:

Options B and C are correct.

 • Marginal profit is negative.
 • Profit is positive.

Explanation:

At q = 150

R = 80q = 80(150) = 12,000

C = 0.002(150)3 + 22(150) + 750 = 6750 + 3300 + 750 = 10,800

R > C so first is incorrect.

MR = 80

MC = 0.006(150 x 150) + 22 = 135 + 22 = 157

MC > MR so B is correct.

Profit = TR - TC = 80(150) - 0.002(150)3 - 22(150) - 750 = 12000 - 10800 = 1200

Profit is positive.

Marginal profit = MR - MC = 80 - 157 = - 77

MR is Negative
