Answer: The correct option is C) (NH_4)_2SO_3 .

Explanation: The given ions are ammonium ion with +1 charge and sulfite ion with -2 charge. When the ions combined to form a compound then over all charge becomes. The over all charge becomes zero only if the positive charge equals to the negative charge.

As the ammonium ion has +1 charge and the sulfite ion has -2 charge, two ammonium ions are required for each sulfite ion. Since two ions of ammonium ion are required for each sulfite ion, the subscript of ammonium ion will be 2 and that of sulfite ion is 1. If the subscript is 1 then its not written.

Hence, the compound formula will be (NH_4)_2SO_3 and the correct option is C.

What mass of lif is contained in 18.66 g of a 20.0% by mass solution of lif in water?
aev [14]
Answer is: mass of lithium fluoride is 3,732 grams.
m(solution) = 18,66 g.
ω(solution) = 20% = 20% ÷ 100% = 0,2.
m(LiF) = ?
ω(solution) = m(LiF) ÷ m(solution).
m(LiF) = ω(solution) · m(solution).
m(LiF) = 0,2 · 18,66 g.
m(LiF) = 3,732 g.

Which of the following statements about monosaccharide structure is true?
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

The only statement about monosaccharide structure which is true is b. (Monosaccharides can be classified according to the spatial arrangement of their atoms)

Explanation:

Monosaccharides are simple sugars that are classified according to the amount of carbon atoms and based on these numbers, we can call them trioses, pentoses and hexoses. They are molecules with aldehyde (aldose) or centone (ketose) groups that have more than one alcohol function, but which do not differ in their position (OH). They do not contain N, since their general formula is Cx (H2O) x. A 6-carbon monosaccharide is called hexose, since the pentose only has 5

Consider a mystery compound having the formula MxTy. If the compound is not an acid, if it contains only two elements, and if M
valkas [14]

Answer:

d.) It is a binary molecular compound.

Explanation:

The compound in question has a formula M{x}T_{y}. The compound is not acidic in nature and the element 'M' is not a metal. This shows that the compound does not contain any metal. Based on the definition of a binary molecular compound as a compound comprising elements that are not metals. Therefore, the compound is obviously a binary molecular compound.
