Answer:

The fraction is \frac{3}{4}

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain how to solve the problem

- The fraction m/n has m as a numerator and n as a denominator

- To compare between fractions we must to put all of them with

  same denominator

- We can make that by find the lowest common multiple (L.C.M) of

 the all denominators

- Ex: The L.C.M of the denominators of these fraction

 \frac{1}{2},\frac{3}{4},\frac{5}{6} is 12 because 12 is the first

 common multiple of 2 , 4 , 6

- The fractions will be change:

# \frac{1}{2}=\frac{6}{12} ⇒ we multiplied up and down by 6

  to make the denominator = 12

# \frac{3}{4}=\frac{9}{12} ⇒ we multiplied up and down by 3

  to make the denominator = 12

# \frac{5}{6}=\frac{10}{12} ⇒ we multiplied up and down by 2

  to make the denominator = 12

- The fractions will be \frac{6}{12},\frac{9}{12},\frac{10}{12}

* Lets solve the problem

- To chose a fraction between \frac{7}{8},\frac{3}{5}, we must

 find The L.C.M for the denominators 8 and 5

∵ The least common multiple of 8 and 5 is 40

∴ The fraction \frac{7}{8}=\frac{35}{40} ⇒ we multiplied up

  and down by 5 to make the denominator = 40

∴ The fraction \frac{3}{5}=\frac{24}{40} ⇒ we multiplied up

  and down by 8 to make the denominator = 40

- Lets find any fraction between \frac{35}{40} and \frac{24}{40}

∵ The fraction \frac{30}{40} is between the fractions

    \frac{35}{40} and  \frac{24}{40}

∴ \frac{35}{40}>\frac{30}{40}>\frac{24}{40}

- Lets reduce the fraction to its simplest form

∵ The simplest form of \frac{30}{40} is \frac{3}{4}

   by dividing up and down by 10

∴ \frac{7}{8}>\frac{3}{4}>\frac{3}{5}

* The fraction is \frac{3}{4}

Suppose babies born in a large hospital have a mean weight of 3316 grams, and a standard deviation of 324 grams. If 83 babies ar
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer: 0.129

Step-by-step explanation:

Let \overline{X} denotes a random variable that represents the mean weight of babies born.

Population mean : \mu= \text{3316 grams,}

Standard deviation: \text{324 grams}

Sample size = 83

Now, the probability that the mean weight of the sample babies would differ from the population mean by greater than 54 grams will be :

P(|\mu-\overline{X}|>54)=1-P(\dfrac{-54}{\dfrac{324}{\sqrt{83}}}

hence, the required probability =  0.129

Thomas wants to estimate the mean height of students attending his college. He records the heights of 25 randomly selected stude
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer: B - The mean height of all the students of the college.

Explanation:

In statistics, the concept of parameter refers to the value that you want to know about a population to characterize it, for example, mean height, mean age, etc.

In this case, the value that you want to know about the population of the college is the mean height of its students, so the correct option is B.

The following concepts are used in statistics that can be applied to the given example:

- Population (all students of the university).

- Parameter (mean height of university students).

- Sample (the 25 randomly selected students).

- Elements (the heights of the selected students).

- Estimator (average height of randomly selected students).

Dafna11 [192]

Given a data set consisting of 33 unique whole number observations, its five-number summary is: [19,32,47,61,77] how many observations are strictly less than 32?

Solution: The five number summary denotes:

Minimum = 19

First Quartile = 32

Median = 47

Third Quartile = 61

Maximum = 77

Since there are an odd number of observations (33) in the data set, the First Quartile (32) must be at the (33+1)/4 = 8.5th position, meaning there are 7 numbers less than 32.

Therefore, there are 7 observations that are strictly less than 32

Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

$45000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Net income =$50,400

Let the prior year income be x

12/100*x +x= 50400

0.12x+x= 50400

1.12x= 50400

x= 50400/1.12

x= $45000

Hence the prior year income is $45000
