Answer:

Stressors stimulate the release of <u>adrenocorticotropic hormone</u> from anterior pituitary which then stimulates the secretion of <u>cortisol</u> from adrenal cortex.

Explanation:

Stress can be described as the response of an organism to an environmental condition or event or external stimulus which causes stress.

The major systems that respond to stress are autonomic nervous system and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA axis).

The HPA axis is responsible for releasing vasopressin and corticotropin releasing hormone from hypothalamus which stimulates the anterior pituitary to secrete adrenocorticotropic hormone. The adrenocorticotropic hormone the stimulates the secretion of cortisol from adrenal cortex of the adrenal gland.

A chess-playing computer program that routinely calculates all possible outcomes of all possible game moves best illustrates pro
svetlana [45]

Answer: An algorithm

Explanation: Computer programs are algorithms. They are finite set of rules or instructions carefully written to perform a specific task. The algorithm is written in a flexible manner without the moves being 'hard-coded', This allows the program to adjust and routinely calculate all possible game moves.

Hard coding the moves reduces the flexibility of the algorithm. Hard coding is used when there is something we want to embed within our program permanently without being changed.

The algorithm only states the rules of the game, without the limiting the moves a player can make.

Answer:

Context effect

Explanation:

Sean just discovered that his roommate Jack's girlfriend told him that she no longer wants to see him. Sean finds out that Jack is studying in the library, so he goes to find him. Although Jack looks like he is studying, Sean assumes he looks depressed. This assumption is an example of someone being influenced by: <u>context effect</u>.

In cognitive psychology, a context effect is used to describe the effect an environment or people have on an individuals perceived stimulus. The prevailing environment or situation of Jack, that is, his girlfriend breaking up with him, influenced Sean into thinking that Jack was depressed

leonid [27]

Answer:

According to Knapp's (1938-)  Model of Relational Development, Barbie and Ken are stuck at the <em>Stagnation stage.</em>

Explanation:

On the Stagnation stage <u>individuals see that their relationships are not developing anywhere and feel stuck in them</u>. As Barbie and Ken do not move past seating on the porch and talking about weather.

The other characteristic is not talking a lot. Each individual feels that he or she knows about what the other person is going to say. While stagnation stage is frustrating, people often <u>stay in it for prolonged periods of time</u> in order to avoid pain from ending the relationship altogether.
