James bought 4 bottles of juice.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given that

Total Number of bottles bought by James = 15

There are two types of bottles that are bottle of juice and bottle of water.

Cost of one bottle of water = \$1.50

Cost of one bottle of Juice = \$3.00

Total amount spent on buying bottles = \$28.50

Need to calculate number of bottles of juice bought by James.

Let’s assume number of bottles of juice bought by James be represented by variable x.

So Remaining bottles of out of 15 bottles will be bottle of water

So number of bottles of water = (15-x)

Price \ of \ x \ bottles \ of \ juice = x\times price \ of \ 1 \ bottle \ of \ juice = x\times3 = 3x

Price \ of \ (15-x) \ bottles \ of \ water = (15-x)\times price \ of \ 1 \ bottle \ of \ water = 1.5(15-x)

Total amount spent on buying bottles = Price of x bottles of juice + Price of (15 – x) bottles of water

\Rightarrow 28.50=3 x+1.5(15-x)

Solving above expression to get value of x.

\begin{array}{l}{\Rightarrow 28.50=3 x+22.5-1.5 x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow 28.50-22.5=3 x-1.5 x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow 6=1.5 x} \\\\ {\Rightarrow x=\frac{6}{1.5}=4}\end{array}

As number of bottles of juice bought by James be represented by variable x, hence the number of bottles of juice bought by James is 4.

What are the dimensions of the rectangle shown below? Remember to use the axes on the coordinate grid to help you.
miskamm [114]
Keep in mind its been a while since i did this type of work lol.....

did you try to draw it out on a grid paper....what will be helpful is if you got the coordinates and put the points down and then if you connect the dots you get your shape now you will count the unis in which the width and length is timed. so like if you had grid and it gave you coordinates and you did all that now you will count how many units is in the width and how many in the length.
 but your best answer might be 14 units x 4 units

RideAnS [48]

Answer:

The probability that it is actually snowing in North Dakota is 17%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Note: The data in the question is not properly stated. The complete question is therefore represented to correct this as follows:

You are about to visit Jamestown in North Dakota, to see the world's largest buffalo monument. You know that it snows 25% of the time in North Dakota, and you are thinking about bringing your parka. It turns out that you have three friends who live in North Dakota, but they are not very trustworthy: Each tells the truth 2/3 of the time, and lies for the remaining 1/3. You call your three friends, and each friend tells you that it is indeed snowing in North Dakota. Given this information, what is the probability that it is actually snowing in North Dakota?

The explanation to the answer is now given as follows:

The probability that it is actually snowing in North Dakota can be calculated using the following formula:

Pa = Pr * Pt ........................... (1)

Where;

Pa = the probability that it is actually snowing in North Dakota = ?

Pr = the prior probability that it snows in North Dokota = 25%, or 0.25

Pt = Probability of saying the truth that it snows = 2/3 = 0.67

Substituting the value into equation (1), we have:

Pa = 0.25 * 0.67

Pa = 0.17, or 17%

Therefore, the probability that it is actually snowing in North Dakota is 17%.
