Tom has offered to sell Julian his motorcycle for $1,200. Julian knows this is a very good deal, since the same motorcycle can b

e purchased at the dealership for $1,800. Since Julian doesn’t have $1,200 and Tom does not accept credit cards, they both think a cash advance might be a good idea. Julian’s credit card company can offer him a cash advance for the $1,200 he needs at an interest rate of 26%. He would then pay off the balance in 24 months.
Should Julian use the cash advance to purchase the motorcycle?

No, i don't think Julian should use the cash advance to purchase the motor cycle.

The price of the motorcycle in the dealership is $1,800

If Julian use his credit card to get cash, he need to pay $1500 + 26 %x 1,500 = $1,890
It would be cheaper if Julian just buy it form the dealership

hope this helps

Answer:

D. No. The high interest rate on the cash advance would make the purchase of the motorcycle almost twice than the price at the dealership.

bonufazy [111]

Answer:

Option (b) is correct.

Explanation:

Before 1966, Catholics were restricted from consuming meat on Fridays and they ate fish on Fridays. But after 1966, there were no such restrictions are there and they are free to eat meat on Fridays, now Catholics also consume meat on Fridays.

This will result in an increase in the demand for meat and demand for fish decreases. So, this will shift the demand curve of fish leftwards and demand curve of meat rightwards.

The Federal Reserve sets the reserve requirement, which banks must meet through deposits at the Fed and cash held at the bank. W
inessss [21]

Answer:

The correct answer to the following question will be Option B.

Explanation:

  • These conditions hopefully reduce banking crises as well as quantify the community against banks never running cash. The criteria for the reservation were established to be doing the ends of the next day.
  • Amount of inter-bank payments, these funds also convince the public which banks aren't going to make many such mortgages.

Other available options have no connection with the particular circumstance. So the answer to the above seems to be the right one.

Suppose the farm equipment manufacturer from the previous question was able to charge $30,000 per tractor, and produces and sell
LiRa [457]

Given Information:

Rent = $20,000,000

Materials and Wages = $10,000/tractor

Number of tractors = 2,000

Amount spent on R&D = $3 million

Required Information:

Lowest price to sell a tractor = ?

Answer:

Lowest price to sell a tractor = at least $20,000

Calculations & Explanation:

The company needs to sell at least at a price that all of its manufacturing cost can be recovered without the profit margin.

This happens at a break-even point where total revenue equals the total manufacturing cost.

Total manufacturing cost = Total revenue

The revenue is number of tractors multiplied by some price x

Total revenue = 2,000*x

Total manufacturing cost = fixed cost + Variable cost

Total manufacturing cost = 20,000,000 + 2,000(10,000)

Total manufacturing cost = 20,000,000 + 20,000,000

Total manufacturing cost = 40,000,000

so,

Total manufacturing cost = Total revenue

40,000,000 = 2,000*x

x = 40,000,000/2,000

x = $20,000

Therefore, the lowest price to sell each tractor should be atleast $20,000

Note: The R&D cost is not usually included in such scenarios because R&D cost is sunk and should not be added in these calculations.

A firm must choose from six capital budgeting proposals outlined below. The firm is subject to capital rationing and has a capit
MaRussiya [10]

Answer:

On IRR basis projects 1, 2, 3, and 5 will be selected.

On NPV basis projects 1, 3, 5,  and 6 will be selected.

Explanation:

The firm will accept or choose all the project that has a higher or equal internal rate of interest than cost of capital. However, in the given case project 4 has a lower internal rate of interest (12 percent) than the cost of capital. Thus, projects 1, 2, 3, and 5 will be chosen by the firm. While the firm has budget constraints so it will have no money for projects 4 and 6.

The firm will select all the projects with positive NPV when there is no budget constraint. But in case of budget constraint, the firm will select the project that has high NPV. Thus, Project 1, 6, 3, and 5 will be selected and there will be no money left for projects 2 and 4.
